Shah Chess teaches you chess and gives you someone to play, from your very first move to your first win and beyond. LEARN BY PLAYING Short lessons take you from how the pieces move to checkmate patterns, forks, pins and other tactics. Every lesson happens on the board: you make the move, and a friendly teacher explains why it works. OPPONENTS WITH CHARACTER Play a ladder of computer opponents, from very easy to strong. Each has a name, a face, favourite openings and a voice, and reacts to your moves as you play. The first opponents go easy on you; the ladder gets harder as you improve. A REAL RATING Rated games on the clock give you a Blitz and a Rapid rating, calculated the way chess sites do it. A new rating shows a "?" until it settles.
