About

A light just came on on your dashboard. All you really need to know is one thing: can you keep driving? 故障灯速查 (Warning Light Lookup) skips the theory and gets straight to the verdict: pull over now, drive gently to a repair shop, or nothing to worry about. Language note: the app's content is in Simplified Chinese. ■ 39 lights, 65 situations The same light can mean two very different things depending on whether it's steady or flashing. A steady check-engine light means you can drive slowly to get it checked. A flashing one means a cylinder misfire, and a few more minutes of driving can ruin the catalytic converter. So the app doesn't treat each light as a single entry. It first asks what your light is doing right now, and only then gives the verdict. 39 symbols are split into 65 branches; for 19 of them, the app asks about the light's state first. ■ Don't know what it's called? Describe the shape 218 everyday Chinese nicknames are searchable: 茶壶 (teapot), 乌龟 (turtle), 小火车 (little train), 马蹄铁 (horseshoe) and more. Pinyin and initials work too: chahu, wugui, ty, fdjgzd. Is the text on your dash in English? BRAKE, SRS, EPC, TRAC OFF, Service Engine Soon: 124 on-screen messages are included. For cars like Tesla that have no traditional gauge cluster, just type the alert code shown on the screen. Does the light in your car look a little different? Carmakers really do draw the same warning differently; on some cars the turtle is a battery with an exclamation mark. High-risk symbols come with how other brands draw them. Long-press the lights you check often to add them to favorites, and they stay pinned at the top. ■ Several lights at once When several lights come on together, it's often not several problems but one upstream fault. Battery + power steering + ABS lighting up together usually means a broken drive belt: the same belt drives the alternator, water pump and power-steering pump. 16 combination rules: select the lights that are on and get a verdict. If no rule matches, you still get an answer: the most severe light takes priority, with a reminder not to keep driving. ■ What to do, and what never to do Some first instincts are exactly the dangerous ones. Restarting the engine with the oil light on just to "make it to the shop" is gambling with the engine. Stalling while driving takes away both steering and brake assist. These warnings get their own section, marked in red. ■ Fully offline No network access, no data collection, no camera, location or notification permissions, and no third-party SDKs. Once installed, it works in airplane mode. Underground car parks, tunnels and highway rest stops are exactly where you need it most. And because it's offline, there's no account to sign up for. ■ About pricing Everything related to "can I keep driving?" is free: severity verdicts, likely causes, what-to-do steps, all branches, combination verdicts, look-alike symbol comparisons, share cards and favorites. A one-time purchase unlocks two extras: what to say at the repair shop (what to ask for, and which fixes not to accept), and the parts and troubleshooting order in combination diagnosis. It's not a subscription: buy once, keep it forever. ■ Please note The content is for reference only and does not replace professional inspection. When driving safety is involved, contact a qualified mechanic or roadside assistance.Read more
