About
Labelwise reads the ingredients list on a product and tells you what it means for you. It does not depend on a barcode database: you photograph the back of the pack and the app reads the label on your phone. So it works on local products no database knows, on imports, and on cosmetics. WHAT IT DOES • Looks for your allergies — milk, gluten, egg, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soy and more — under every name labels use: whey, casein, ghee, skimmed milk powder. • Shows "may contain" warnings separately. "Contains" and "may contain" are not the same claim. • For halal, kosher, vegan, vegetarian, pork-free and alcohol-free diets, shows outright conflicts in red, and what the label leaves open — gelatine, E471, glycerol — in orange. • Flags substances you are watching: lactose, added sugars, sodium, phosphates, caffeine and phenylalanine. • Gives short notes on E-number additives and cosmetic ingredients, each with its source. • Reads labels in English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch — Vollmilchpulver is milk, farine de blé is wheat. • Share a result with the person it matters to, as text. Turn on the light for a dim shelf. IT TRIES TO BE HONEST • It never says "safe". The strongest thing it can say is that it did not find what it looked for. • It always shows what the camera read, and you can correct a misread word by hand. • When a scan fails it says why: no text, the wrong side of the pack, too blurry, or a list cut off. • If a label is in a language it cannot check yet, it says so instead of reporting nothing found. PRIVACY Your photos, profile and history stay on your phone. No accounts, no tracking. Ads in the free version are not personalised, are never chosen from your profile, and can be removed for good with a one-time purchase. The app speaks English and Turkish, and its language can be set apart from your phone's. Labelwise reports what is printed on the label. It is not medical advice and cannot know what a label leaves out. If you have a serious allergy, always check the packaging yourself as well.Read more
