About
IceSpie — know what's in your freezer, before it's freezer-burned IceSpie turns your freezer into a visual wall-chart instead of a guessing game. No more digging through frost-covered bags to find out what's actually in there, or throwing out mystery packages that have been hiding at the back since who-knows-when. The Canvas The heart of IceSpie is a simple grid: rows are freezer zones (Meat, Fish, Fruit & Vegetables, Emergency Rations, Miscellaneous), columns are months. Drag a tile onto a month to log something you're freezing — drag it again to correct the month if you logged it wrong. Tap any tile for full details, to edit it, duplicate it for restocking, or remove it. Pinch to zoom, double-tap to reset. It reads at a glance. Add items in seconds Scan a barcode and IceSpie looks it up on Open Food Facts to prefill the name, brand, category, and package size automatically — scanning itself happens fully on-device with Apple's Vision framework, no account or internet required for the scan itself. Nothing in the database? Type it in by hand just as quickly. Attach a reference photo from your library, your camera, an emoji, or — on supported devices — generate one with Apple Intelligence's Image Playground. Never lose track of freshness Every item gets a recommended freezer life based on its category, with a per-item override if you know better. IceSpie quietly tracks what's fresh, what needs using soon, and what's past its best — no more relying on memory or the date on a Post-it note. Notices, without the nagging A dedicated Notices tab surfaces exactly what needs your attention right now: things expiring soon or already past due, items missing a name or category, or anything not yet assigned to a freezer and tray. It appears when something needs you, and disappears again once nothing does. Built for how your kitchen actually works Track more than one physical freezer — that second chest freezer in the garage included — each with its own name, location, photo, and however many pull-out trays or drawers it has. The Contents tab gives you a plain searchable list of everything you own, freezer by freezer or all together, for when a wall-chart isn't what you need. Your data, your devices Everything syncs automatically via iCloud across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, signed into the same account — no extra setup, no separate login. Designed to feel native everywhere IceSpie is a proper Mac app too, with real menus, keyboard shortcuts (⌘N for a new item, ⌘E to edit, ⌘D to duplicate, ⌘1–⌘4 to switch tabs), and a Help menu with genuine answers instead of an empty search box. No ads, no accounts, no subscriptions. If you find it useful, there's a completely optional one-time tip tucked away in About — never a nag, never required. Stop wondering what's buried at the bottom of the chest freezer. Open IceSpie and see it laid out in front of you.Read more
IceSpie — know what's in your freezer, before it's freezer-burned
IceSpie turns your freezer into a visual wall-chart instead of a guessing game. No more digging through frost-covered bags to find out what's actually in there, or throwing out mystery packages that have been hiding at the back since who-knows-when.
The Canvas
The heart of IceSpie is a simple grid: rows are freezer zones (Meat, Fish, Fruit & Vegetables, Emergency Rations, Miscellaneous), columns are months. Drag a tile onto a month to log something you're freezing — drag it again to correct the month if you logged it wrong. Tap any tile for full details, to edit it, duplicate it for restocking, or remove it. Pinch to zoom, double-tap to reset. It reads at a glance.
Add items in seconds
Scan a barcode and IceSpie looks it up on Open Food Facts to prefill the name, brand, category, and package size automatically — scanning itself happens fully on-device with Apple's Vision framework, no account or internet required for the scan itself. Nothing in the database? Type it in by hand just as quickly. Attach a reference photo from your library, your camera, an emoji, or — on supported devices — generate one with Apple Intelligence's Image Playground.
Never lose track of freshness
Every item gets a recommended freezer life based on its category, with a per-item override if you know better. IceSpie quietly tracks what's fresh, what needs using soon, and what's past its best — no more relying on memory or the date on a Post-it note.
Notices, without the nagging
A dedicated Notices tab surfaces exactly what needs your attention right now: things expiring soon or already past due, items missing a name or category, or anything not yet assigned to a freezer and tray. It appears when something needs you, and disappears again once nothing does.
Built for how your kitchen actually works
Track more than one physical freezer — that second chest freezer in the garage included — each with its own name, location, photo, and however many pull-out trays or drawers it has. The Contents tab gives you a plain searchable list of everything you own, freezer by freezer or all together, for when a wall-chart isn't what you need.
Your data, your devices
Everything syncs automatically via iCloud across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, signed into the same account — no extra setup, no separate login.
Designed to feel native everywhere
IceSpie is a proper Mac app too, with real menus, keyboard shortcuts (⌘N for a new item, ⌘E to edit, ⌘D to duplicate, ⌘1–⌘4 to switch tabs), and a Help menu with genuine answers instead of an empty search box.
No ads, no accounts, no subscriptions. If you find it useful, there's a completely optional one-time tip tucked away in About — never a nag, never required.
Stop wondering what's buried at the bottom of the chest freezer. Open IceSpie and see it laid out in front of you.
