Undersong: Sleep Sounds

About

Most sleep apps hand you a library and a subscription banner. Undersong hands you one card. At six in the evening a new card is waiting. Turn it over and it plays. There is no library to scroll, no playlist to assemble, no decision to make at the hour you least want to make one. Tonight's sound is tonight's sound. Every sound is synthesised on your device, in real time. Nothing here is a recording, so nothing loops. The rain never repeats itself. The bowl never rings the same way twice. An eight-hour night is eight hours of sound that has never existed before and won't exist again. THE DECK Twenty-four sounds across six suits — rain, ocean, wind, fire, bowls and noise. Every card carries a line about what that sound does to attention, and why it lets you go. The album remembers which ones you have met and which are still face down. THE NIGHT • Set a timer from fifteen minutes to eight hours • The last five minutes fade out rather than cut off • Plays with the screen off and from the lock screen • Never falls fully silent while the timer runs, so a sudden gap won't wake you FREE All twenty-four sounds are in the deck. One card is dealt each night, and one change if it isn't the one you wanted. UNDERSONG PRO Choose. Open the album, set any card as tonight's sound, and change it as often as you like. The nightly deal stays for the nights you would rather not decide. No account. No sign-in. No tracking. Nothing leaves your phone, because nothing is collected in the first place.
