About
Before you adopt a dog, live with one for 30 days. DogTrial is a real-time rehearsal for dog ownership — not a game with a fast clock, but a day-by-day simulation that runs on the same schedule your life does. Feeding windows, bathroom breaks, walks, training sessions: they all happen on real time, so a busy week feels exactly as demanding as it would with an actual dog. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most "virtual pet" apps let you speed through days in minutes. DogTrial doesn't. If you leave for work, your dog is actually alone for that long — and when you get back, you'll see exactly what that absence cost: a missed walk, a bathroom accident, a chewed-up shoe. Nothing is simulated away for convenience. CHOOSE YOUR SITUATION Pick a breed, a housing type (apartment, house with a yard, apartment with a terrace), and your dog's starting age. Every choice changes the difficulty: a high-energy breed in a small apartment is a genuinely different trial than a low-energy breed with a yard. REAL WALKS, REAL EFFORT Track walks with your phone's GPS or step counter — actually walk the distance your dog needs, don't just tap a button. The app keeps counting steps and distance even if your screen locks mid-walk. A LIVING JOURNAL Every feeding, walk, training session, and incident is logged to a day-by-day journal, so you can look back at week one versus week three and see how much you (and the dog) have adjusted. TRAINING THAT BUILDS Basic commands unlock gradually over the 30 days, matching how real training progresses — sit and stay early on, harder skills later. REAL-WORLD COSTS Track what a dog actually costs day to day — food, vet visits, supplies — so the trial gives you a genuine financial picture, not just an emotional one. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone seriously considering a dog and wanting an honest answer before committing to one, not after. Thirty days of real feeding times, real walks, and real consequences is a much better test than a weekend at a friend's house.Read more

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Most "virtual pet" apps let you speed through days in minutes. DogTrial doesn't. If you leave for work, your dog is actually alone for that long — and when you get back, you'll see exactly what that absence cost: a missed walk, a bathroom accident, a chewed-up shoe. Nothing is simulated away for convenience.
CHOOSE YOUR SITUATION
Pick a breed, a housing type (apartment, house with a yard, apartment with a terrace), and your dog's starting age. Every choice changes the difficulty: a high-energy breed in a small apartment is a genuinely different trial than a low-energy breed with a yard.
REAL WALKS, REAL EFFORT
Track walks with your phone's GPS or step counter — actually walk the distance your dog needs, don't just tap a button. The app keeps counting steps and distance even if your screen locks mid-walk.
A LIVING JOURNAL
Every feeding, walk, training session, and incident is logged to a day-by-day journal, so you can look back at week one versus week three and see how much you (and the dog) have adjusted.
TRAINING THAT BUILDS
Basic commands unlock gradually over the 30 days, matching how real training progresses — sit and stay early on, harder skills later.
REAL-WORLD COSTS
Track what a dog actually costs day to day — food, vet visits, supplies — so the trial gives you a genuine financial picture, not just an emotional one.
WHO IT'S FOR
Anyone seriously considering a dog and wanting an honest answer before committing to one, not after. Thirty days of real feeding times, real walks, and real consequences is a much better test than a weekend at a friend's house.
