Winning 11-0 moves the needle more than winning 11-9, with diminishing returns, because the gap between winning by 2 and by 6 says something and the gap between 9 and 11 does not. Margin is also damped by how strong the winner already was, otherwise the best player farms rating off weaker opponents they were always going to beat.
