About
SomniTune helps you find out which sleep sounds and bedtime rituals actually work for you. Play a sound as you fall asleep — rain, thunder, ocean, a stream, a crackling fireplace, a purring cat, a fan, brown or pink noise, or calm ambient music — and set a sleep timer. In the morning, SomniTune pairs what you played with the sleep data in Apple Health and shows how each night went: total sleep, time to fall asleep, deep and REM sleep, and a hypnogram of your sleep stages. WHICH SOUND IS FASTEST FOR YOU From the second night you try a sound, Insights names the one you fall asleep fastest with — and says how clear the difference really is, measured against how much your own nights vary. When two sounds are inside each other's noise, it tells you that instead of picking a winner. WAKE-UP ALARM Set the time you must be up by and a window of 15, 30 or 45 minutes before it. Inside that window SomniTune watches for the moment you start moving and rings then; otherwise it rings at your time exactly, never after it. An iPhone measures movement and sound, not sleep stages, so the earlier moment is a judgement about movement and nothing more. Your set time is also scheduled as a notification, so it rings even if the app is not running. WORKS WITH APPLE HEALTH SomniTune reads sleep data from Apple Health, which includes Apple Watch and sleep trackers that sync to Health, such as smart rings. NO WATCH OR RING? YOUR IPHONE CAN TRY Leave your iPhone on the bed or nightstand and SomniTune estimates the night from how still it lay and, if you allow it, what the room sounded like: when you settled, how restless you were, snoring, and the noises that disturbed you. Sound is analysed on your iPhone and never uploaded. A phone cannot measure sleep stages or heart rate — those need a watch or a ring — and if you don't sleep alone, some of what it hears may belong to the person beside you. You can also just explore the app in Demo mode with sample nights. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Health data is read on your device to build your sleep insights. SomniTune does not sell your data or use it for advertising. SOMNITUNE PRO Some sounds and features require SomniTune Pro, an auto-renewing subscription available monthly or yearly. Pro includes the full sound library and keeping the few seconds of audio around your snoring, so you can hear it back. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, after any free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). A wake-up alarm that can ring a little early. Set the time you need to be up by, and how early SomniTune may wake you: 15, 30 or 45 minutes. Inside that window it watches the movement it already records overnight, and if you have started stirring it rings then instead of waiting. If nothing like that turns up, it rings at your time exactly — never after it. An iPhone measures movement and sound, not sleep stages, so this is a judgement about movement and nothing more, and the app says so where you set it. Ringing at your set time does not depend on SomniTune running: that time is also a noti…
