About
Cut a vertical video on your phone and post it before you leave the stand. CutPA is a portrait video editor for people who make work videos: trade show clips, product demos, site footage, a short piece to camera. Import, trim, caption, export. Nothing ever leaves your iPhone. FAST, BECAUSE THAT IS THE POINT Pick clips from your library. Drag the handles to trim, tap to split, switch on Reorder to rearrange. Auto-trim cuts every clip down to two, three or four seconds in a single tap, starting a second in so you skip the fumbling at the top. It only ever shortens a clip. CAPTIONS YOU CAN CORRECT Captions are generated on the phone from your own audio, and there is a screen for fixing a company name, a product or an acronym before anything is rendered. Fix it once and it is right in the file. Timings follow the clip they belong to, so trimming and reordering never scatters the words. SIZED FOR WHERE IT IS GOING 1080x1920 for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, Stories, Threads and LinkedIn video. 1080x1350 for the LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook feeds. 886x1920 for App Store preview videos. Apple wants 15 to 30 seconds, under 500 MB and constant 30fps - the frame rate is what most rejected previews get wrong, and every CutPA export is pinned to it. The app checks all three and tells you, rather than letting App Store Connect refuse the upload. It never carries the CutPA mark, paid or not. Captions move with the format, so they stay clear of the buttons each platform draws over your video. Undo goes thirty steps back. Your project is still there tomorrow, so a phone call in the middle of an edit costs you nothing. Exports save straight to Photos and open the share sheet. NOTHING LEAVES THE PHONE No account, no sign-in, no cloud, no analytics, no tracking. The photo picker runs outside the app, so CutPA is never given your library, only the clips you hand it. Audio is transcribed on the device. If your employer restricts what goes on a work phone, or you would simply rather your company's footage did not pass through somebody else's servers on its way to being cut, that is the reason this exists. FREE, AND NOT A CUT-DOWN VERSION Every feature works without paying: import, trim, split, reorder, auto-trim, captions and the correction screen, all three export formats, undo, and your saved project. You are never stopped from exporting, and nothing is held back. The one difference is a small CutPA mark in the corner of the finished file. One payment removes it for good, or puts your own company name or web address there instead on everything you export. You are asked once, on the export screen, and never before. No subscription, nothing to renew.Read more

FAST, BECAUSE THAT IS THE POINT
Pick clips from your library. Drag the handles to trim, tap to split, switch on Reorder to rearrange. Auto-trim cuts every clip down to two, three or four seconds in a single tap, starting a second in so you skip the fumbling at the top. It only ever shortens a clip.
CAPTIONS YOU CAN CORRECT
Captions are generated on the phone from your own audio, and there is a screen for fixing a company name, a product or an acronym before anything is rendered. Fix it once and it is right in the file. Timings follow the clip they belong to, so trimming and reordering never scatters the words.

Timeline fixes, all reported from the first release. Thumbnails no longer repeat the same frame across a short clip, so a two-second clip drawn wide shows the footage moving instead of one smeared image. A filmstrip interrupted by an edit now finishes drawing. Before, the tiles that were still loading when you trimmed stayed blank for the rest of the session. A clip long enough to fill the timeline can now be reordered. Before, there was nowhere on screen to drop it, so it could not be moved at all. And one very short clip no longer stretches the whole timeline across several screens.
