About
Children learn to read by sliding letter sounds together, and every word they read becomes a toy in their own little world. Phonicle teaches reading the way reading is taught in school: systematic synthetic phonics. A child meets letter sounds in a fixed order, starting with s, a, t, p, i, n, and then reads words made only of sounds they already know. Nothing is guessed from a picture and nothing is memorised as a shape. HOW IT WORKS Letters sit apart on a track. Your child pushes them together with one finger, and as each letter joins, Phonicle says everything joined so far and holds the last sound: sss, saaa, sun. When the letters meet, the whole word is said, and a small clay sun drops into your child's world with a soft bounce. Reading literally builds something. WHAT IS INSIDE - 12 units in a real phonics order: single letters, then ck, ll, sh, ch, th and ng, then blends like fr, st and nd, then ee and oo - 24 short chapters of five to eight new words, each ending with a sentence your child can read on their own - 147 decodable words, every one checked against the sounds taught before it - Sound games that introduce each new letter: which one starts with sss? - 4 clay worlds to fill: Farm, Home, Seaside and Town, with a toy for every word - Words your child struggled with come back in the next chapter - Tap any toy in the world to hear its word again MADE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN - Every instruction is spoken, so no reading is needed to use the app - Big letter tiles, vowels always in coral, consonants always in ink - No timers, no scores to lose, no fail sounds - Up to 4 readers on one device, each with their own world FOR GROWN-UPS A parent corner, behind a grown-up check, shows each reader's progress through the units, the sounds they pause on before joining, and the words they let go of, so you know exactly what to practise together. You can also slow the speech down. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE No account. No advertising. No in-app purchases. No tracking and no analytics.
