About
Some days the word is right there and it will not come. WordMend is a set of language exercises for practicing word finding, recall and naming. It was built for women going through perimenopause and menopause, and for anyone who wants to spend ten minutes a day on the words they reach for. It works offline. The whole dictionary — 58,000 words with definitions, synonyms and pronunciations in English and Spanish — sits on your phone. Nothing you do here needs a connection, and nothing leaves the device unless you turn on sync. ELEVEN EXERCISES • Tip of Tongue — the definition is in front of you; find the word • Word Recall — a spaced-repetition queue that brings back the ones you missed • Memory Bridge — an illustration to anchor a word to a picture • Odd One Out — four words, one that does not belong • Category Fluency — name as many as you can before the clock runs out • Spoken Naming — say the answer out loud; recognition runs on the device • Rapid Naming — name what you see, on the clock, without stopping to search • Word Finding — describe what you mean and find the word for it • Say It Better — a sharper word for the sentence you already wrote • Semantic Ladder — step from one word to another, one sense at a time • Name Recall — practice the names of people you actually know KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU NOTICE • Log brain fog, sleep, mood and other symptoms in a few seconds • See your sessions beside the days you logged • Export a weekly PDF you can keep or take to an appointment BUILT FOR REAL DAYS • Ten minutes is a whole session • Difficulty follows how the last one went, so it stays worth doing • English and Spanish, switchable whenever you like • iPhone and iPad ABOUT THE EXERCISES The tasks here are the familiar ones from cognitive and speech practice — naming, category fluency, spaced retrieval — put into a form you can do on your own, on a phone, in the time you actually have. WordMend is a practice tool. It does not diagnose anything, it is not a treatment, and it does not promise that practicing will change your symptoms. SUBSCRIPTION WordMend Professional unlocks all eleven exercises, unlimited sessions, adaptive difficulty and the weekly report. It is $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year, and it begins with a 14-day free trial run by the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
