About
You are having a migraine, and the last thing you want is a form. Open Aura and tap once. The clock starts and the screen goes dark. That is the whole job for now. How bad it is, where it hurts and what you took can wait until you can look at a screen again. When you can, attack mode is still there: ten large targets for how bad it is, a tap when the aura starts and another when it fades, a head map to point to where it hurts, and one-tap doses from the medications you keep. Tap "It's over" when it is, from the app, the Lock Screen or Control Centre. Between attacks, home is your month drawn as a ring of days, each migraine day in the colour of its worst attack, with the medication-day count beside it. A short daily check-in records sleep, stress, water, caffeine, alcohol, skipped meals and screen time, on the clear days as much as the bad ones, because a pattern is a comparison and clear days are half of it. Patterns describes your attacks in your own numbers: how often aura comes first and how long it lasts, where it hurts most, when they tend to start, how long they go on. Then it holds your check-in factors against your attack days and the day before, and says which ones differ, with the averages and the days behind each. It waits until there is enough data to say anything at all, tells you what it cannot judge yet, and never claims one thing caused another. The Appointment report is a PDF for your neurologist: the attack table, aura and pain location, medication days counted against the monthly figure clinical guidance cites, and the patterns that hold up. Your name and your neurologist's go on the front, from the care card, and nowhere else. Aura is built for a dark room. Near-black surfaces, no pure white anywhere, large targets, everything within reach of one thumb, and a whole-app dimming while an attack runs that you can switch off. There are Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a Live Activity with the running clock, and Control Centre and Action button shortcuts, all reading the same diary. Your diary is written to this iPhone and nowhere else. There is no account to make and nothing is uploaded; the only thing that ever leaves the phone is a report or an export you choose to share. You can export the whole diary as a file, or delete it, from the care card. Recording is free and never limited, and free Aura also includes the last 30 days on the calendar and one report. The Appointment report subscription opens the rest: a fresh report before every appointment, the whole calendar back to your first entry, and the pattern comparison over all of it. It comes in two editions, Appointment report, yearly and Appointment report, monthly, each with a free first week for new subscribers. Both renew automatically at the end of each period at the price the app shows you in your own currency, until you cancel. You can turn off renewal at any time in your Apple Account settings, at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and any unused part of a free week is forfeited when you subscribe. Aura does not diagnose, is not a medical device, and shows patterns in your own diary rather than causes. Talk to a clinician about anything that worries you.
