About

CurlCue scores a hair product against your hair. Not against a universal good-or-bad list. Two people can scan the same bottle and get two different scores, because a rich butter that rescues coarse, low-porosity coils will flatten fine waves, and a clarifying wash that saves one scalp will strip another. Every other scanner tells both people the same thing. CurlCue doesn't. HOW A SCORE IS BUILT Every ingredient is read three ways: what it is doing in the formula, whether it belongs in this kind of product, and how it behaves on your hair specifically. A protein is not simply "good". It is good in a bond repair mask, unremarkable in a rinse-out, and a mistake on hair that is already protein-sensitive. Health comes first and it can veto. If a product will build up on you, strip you, or irritate your scalp, the score is cut before anything else is considered, and the app shows you the cut in points rather than hiding it in a percentage. Only then does CurlCue ask the second question: does this move you toward the look you actually want? Because those are different questions. Moisture is a health property. Shine is a preference. Wanting deeply hydrated hair with a matte finish is a perfectly ordinary thing to want, and CurlCue can express it. FOR EVERY HAIR TYPE 1a through 4c. Straight, wavy, curly, coily. Fine or coarse, low or high porosity, oily or dry or reactive scalp. No assumption about your gender is made anywhere in the app. WHAT YOU CAN DO Scan a barcode for an instant score against your profile. Photograph an ingredient list and have it read and scored on the spot. Compare two products side by side before you spend anything. Build a routine that is scored as a whole, because products work as a set. Track it with streaks and check-ins that reward actually doing it. Follow people whose hair is like yours and see what is working for them. Ask the CurlCue AI what to do next, in plain language. THE HONEST PART There are hundreds of thousands of hair products in the world, and CurlCue has catalogued a fraction of them. You will scan a bottle it does not recognise yet. That is not a dead end: photograph the ingredients and CurlCue reads the label and scores it for you right there. Add the front of the bottle and the product joins the catalogue permanently, so the next person only has to scan the barcode. We would rather tell you this now than have you find out on your third scan. CURLCUE PRO A free account reads five ingredient labels a week, and every product you contribute earns you more. Pro lifts that to 30 label reads a day and opens side-by-side comparison and deeper AI routine coaching. Both plans start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Subscriptions are monthly or annual, renew automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends, and are managed in your Apple account settings. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
