KnitLight is a quiet evening journal for knitting. It keeps work on the needles, pattern charts, and gauge swatches in a bound page with fore-edge tabs — not a bottom tab bar — so the three surfaces stay Projects, Patterns, and Swatches. Projects hold a piece in progress: status (cast on, on needles, blocking, finished, mending), yarn weight, needle size, stitch count, and a lasting row clicker with haptic plus and minus. Link a chart and a swatch to hear a Gauge Whisper — how much wider or longer the fabric may grow versus the stated gauge, with a patient next step. Log evening sittings (rows and quiet minutes) and watch a six-week cadence of lamp-light knitting. Nest leftover skeins with meters remaining so mending later has a match. Keep a Seam Diary for hems, cables, underarms, darns, shoulders, and necklines, and mark when a seam finally sits right. Optional photos of the cloth are copied onto this iPhone. Patterns are searchable. Filter by skill (first loops, steady hands, adventurous) or yarn weight, then save charts into named collections — winter evenings, a mending basket — and pin a collection to a project. Swatches record stitches and rows in 10 cm after blocking. Search and filter by yarn weight. Hold two squares together to compare density. Empty states explain the next stitch; releasing a project removes its sittings, seam notes, and photo while unlinking skeins.
