About

OPCam turns any spare phone into a home security camera (HomeCam) and a trip/dash recorder (GoCam) — no cloud storage fees, no monthly subscription. No account required, no name/email/phone number collected — every device using OPCam is fully anonymous, so you can use it with peace of mind. HOMECAM • On-device detection of motion, people (via AI object detection) and pets (via a separate AI image-recognition model) — watches the room, flags movement or confirms the right subject, nothing is sent anywhere. • Nursery mode alerts on ANY movement in the frame. It does NOT recognize faces or crying — just motion — so it's a simple monitor, not a smart nanny. • Loud on-device siren when a person is detected, locked behind your phone's PIN/Face ID/fingerprint so only you can turn it off. • Quiet Hours — mute alerts and siren on a schedule; the camera still records and saves clips normally, it just stays silent during that window. • Auto-sync flagged clips to your phone's own Photos app — protects your footage if this device is ever lost, stolen, or damaged, since your own iCloud/Google Photos backup picks it up from there. GOCAM A video log for your journey, check your local laws before using GoCam as a dashcam. • Loop recording with GPS and speed overlay, in km/h or mph, automatically overwriting old clips when storage fills up. • Impact/crash detection auto-locks the clip so it can't be overwritten, keeping footage from both before and after the impact. • Parking watch (on by default) — after your car sits still under 2 km/h for about 3 minutes, the camera keeps recording continuously and alerts your paired devices if it's hit. Turn it off and the camera fully powers down while parked instead, saving battery. This mode can also be used to record activity at home if left stationary, but be mindful of battery drain, storage use, and device heat — it does NOT alert on motion or people, it only records continuously and locks a clip on impact. CONNECTING A RECEIVING DEVICE Receiving devices are always FREE, unlimited, no purchase needed: 1. On the phone acting as the camera: go to Settings → Share alerts → reveal the 16-character code → copy or send it to your family member. 2. On your family member's phone: install OPCam → go to "Receive alerts from a camera" → enter the code → Connect. 3. Done — that phone now gets a push alert the instant the camera detects something, even with the app closed. You can pair multiple receiving devices, and one receiving device can connect to multiple cameras. STAY CONNECTED • Share your camera's 16-character code with family — their phone gets a push alert the moment something happens on the recording device. That device doesn't need to buy anything just to receive alerts. • Low battery or overheating also notify your paired devices — and recording resumes automatically once battery/temperature recover. • The in-app Notifications screen keeps a history of recent alerts, so you can check back if you missed a push notification. PRIVACY • Video and audio are only stored on your phone — nothing is uploaded. When something happens, a quick alert is sent to your paired devices (just the time and what triggered it) — never the actual footage. • Recording audio may require consent from everyone present depending on your local law. KNOWN LIMITS • Swiping the app away stops the camera immediately — there is no background service yet. • Distance, angle and lighting still affect the accuracy of the AI detection. PRICING • 7-day free trial, everything unlocked. • HomeCam only $3.99 · GoCam only $3.99 · Combo (both) $6.99 · Premium (both, up to 5 devices) $19.99 — one-time purchase, no subscription.Read more
