About

Choose your dream. We help your brain get there. Dream Library is a sleep-audio app built on one idea: the dream you fall asleep wanting is more likely to be the dream you have. Pick a dream from our library, and Dream Library guides your brain toward it, from the moment you close your eyes through your REM windows overnight. This isn't a relaxation or white-noise app — it's dream targeting, built to raise the chance tonight's dream includes your chosen theme. HOW IT WORKS — A 4-STEP NIGHTLY FLOW 1. Priming (3-5 minutes, before sleep) A short narrated story for your chosen dream plays while you're still awake. It plants a signature sound cue — say, gentle waves and a soft chime — and ends with a spoken intention: "Tonight, I will find myself by the sea." 2. Hypnagogic Prompts As you drift off, your phone estimates sleep onset from motion and microphone sound level, then plays short, softening prompts tied to your dream. Sound-level metering creates temporary recorder files locally; they are rotated and deleted on a best-effort basis and never uploaded. 3. REM Cues Later in the night, your signature sound cue replays very quietly during your predicted or detected REM windows, reinforcing the dream association. 4. Morning Check-in When you wake, Dream Library asks: "Did the sea appear?" Answer Yes, A little, or No, and add a one-line note. Your recent seven-day check-in score summarizes those responses. DREAM LIBRARY • Calm — soothing, mostly free dreams: beaches, forests, gentle memories • Adventure — adventure-themed dreams, part of Dream Library Premium • Nightmare Rewrite — imagery rehearsal plus sound cues aimed at reducing recurring nightmares; your first dreams are free, then available by subscription or purchase BACKED BY SLEEP SCIENCE Dream Library is built on published sleep-science research, not guesswork. Sleep-onset (hypnagogic) prompting — the basis for Targeted Dream Incubation (TDI) — has been shown to produce themed-dream incorporation in a majority of prompted sessions in MIT Media Lab studies. Pairing a sensory cue with something learned beforehand, then replaying it during sleep, reactivates the memory — this is Targeted Memory Reactivation (TMR), the basis for the sound cue replayed during REM. Imagery rehearsal combined with TMR has also been shown to significantly reduce nightmare frequency, the basis for our Nightmare Rewrite category. In short: based on TDI and TMR research, Dream Library increases the chance your dream includes your chosen theme — it does not guarantee any specific dream. References • Horowitz, A. et al., MIT Media Lab — Dormio research (2020, 2023) • Rasch, B. et al. (2007) and Rudoy, J. et al. (2009) — sensory-cued memory reactivation • Schwartz, S. et al. (2022), Current Biology — imagery rehearsal combined with targeted memory reactivation for nightmares SAFETY Dream Library is a wellness app, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for professional care. If nightmares are frequent or distressing, please talk to a healthcare professional. SUBSCRIPTIONS Dream Library Premium Monthly is $7.99/month.
