About

Know what you're looking at before you touch it. FloraFang identifies spiders and plants that could hurt you using your iPhone's camera, and it refuses to guess when it isn't sure. That refusal is the safety feature, not a limitation. A confident "it's harmless" that turns out wrong is far more dangerous than an honest "I can't tell." Everything happens on your device. No account, no server, nothing uploaded, ever. WHAT IT DOES Spider ID tells you whether a spider you photographed likely belongs to a medically significant group, like widows or recluses, or a commonly harmless one, and never rules out danger on weak evidence. Plant ID names a likely toxic species when it's confident enough, and says plainly when it isn't rather than guessing. It will never tell you something is safe to eat. The Exposure tab puts US Poison Control and the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center one tap away, with a quick intake checklist so you have the details ready when you call. A private, on device field log saves your finds with photos and notes. BUILT FOR REAL SITUATIONS Point your camera at a spider on the wall or a plant your kid or pet just got into. FloraFang tells you what it can honestly tell, and admits when it can't. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a vet, or Poison Control, and it never claims to be. PRIVACY No account. No analytics. No third party trackers. Nothing about you or your photos ever leaves your phone. Core identification and the Exposure help screen are free, permanently. A one time purchase unlocks a few extras: a Field Naturalist chat, exporting your personal log, shareable ID cards, a field checklist, and the full species catalog.Read more
