Findory Vocabulary A rich vocabulary helps children understand what they read, express their ideas and make sense of new learning. Findory Vocabulary helps children build that store of language through short, carefully chosen sessions designed to fit comfortably into family life. Each Daily Quest takes around five to ten minutes, mixing words ready to be revisited with a small number of new ones. Across Years 3–6, children can encounter 1,200 carefully selected words organised into 100 themed packs. Helping words stick Every word moves through a five-step learning journey. When a child answers correctly, it returns after gradually longer intervals: the next day, then after three days, a week and a fortnight. Words that are proving difficult return sooner. This draws on two well-established principles from the science of learning: retrieval practice and spaced practice. Recalling a word's meaning and meeting it again over time help make that knowledge more secure. Knowing a word also involves more than recognising its definition. Findory approaches words in different ways, asking children to think about meaning, context, synonyms, antonyms and relationships between words. Carefully chosen sentences and plausible wrong answers encourage children to think about what a word really means rather than simply spotting an obvious answer. Children can discover new vocabulary in Word Safari, practise familiar words in Lightning Round and collect a gem for every word they master. Word Duel offers pass-and-play practice with a grown-up, while Quizmaster lets you ask the questions and your child answer aloud — creating an easy opportunity to talk about interesting words together on the sofa, in the car or around the kitchen table. A clear picture for parents Parent Corner shows progress over time, accuracy across different vocabulary skills and the words that may benefit from a little more practice. Parents can change the working year level at any time, and several children can share one device with their own profiles, progress and gems. Findory requires no account or sign-up and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking. It works completely offline, with learning data staying on your device.
