Findory Comprehension

Read closely. Think deeply. Findory Comprehension gives young readers a clear, confidence-building way to practise understanding what they read. A short passage, a few questions, five to ten minutes — then done. Each Comprehension Pack is one piece of non-fiction and twelve questions about it, always in the same order. That order is the point: a child who meets the same twelve steps on every passage builds a reliable way of approaching any text, and stops guessing. THE TWELVE STEPS Understand the text · Skim · Scan · Retrieve · Check the facts · Words in context · Find the word · Connect · Infer · Main idea · Complete the meaning · Stretch Some ask your child to choose an answer. Some ask them to tap the paragraph that explains something, or the one word in a sentence that carries a particular meaning. Answers never require typing. THE PASSAGE STAYS ON SCREEN Going back to check is the skill, not a shortcut. The passage never disappears while a question is being answered, so a child learns to look again rather than to remember. Every answer is followed by an explanation that points at the words that decide it. FOR THE GROWN-UPS A Parent Corner shows packs completed, accuracy overall and by skill, recent practice, and which skills need more work. You can also choose the working year level. There is deliberately no reading age: a handful of questions cannot measure one, and a number like that is easy to believe and hard to forget. Several children can share one device, each with their own profile and gems. NO ADS, NO ACCOUNTS, NO TRACKING Learning progress stays on your family's device. The app makes no network requests at all — it works on a plane — and there is nothing to sign up for. Delete the profile or the app and it is gone. Suitable for Years 3 to 6, and useful preparation for selective-entry and opportunity-class reading tests.
