About
Gazer is a map that starts dark. Every photograph you take clears the fog where you stood and leaves a print on that ground — the place, the day, the way you faced. Being there is what counts. Walk, and the fog gives way. A photowalk cuts its trail across the map and gathers the prints you made along it. Every walk ends in a ceremony — distance, steps, the hour, and your prints drawn as a constellation — and rides your Lock Screen while it runs. Gazer keeps the print. You keep the negative. A photograph becomes a print on the ground it was taken; the original stays yours, in Photos, untouched. Your old photographs already know where you've been. The dig reads your library for the pictures that carry a place, gathers them by ground, and offers them to the map — nothing reaches it unapproved, and no photograph ever leaves your phone. THE WORLD, AS YOU MAKE IT The fog: dark until you've been there. Prints clear their own ground; walks clear their trail. • Prints: every photograph, on the ground it came from, with its place, date and heading. • Stacks: prints taken together gather into a stack; open one and the rest step aside. • Journeys: your days, by place. Your walks and their recaps live in your Profile. • Discover: the things that are only found by looking — the first print in a country, a year of gazing, the hundredth print. • Sky notices in the bell — a clear golden hour, fog, first snow, an aurora — from the Apple Weather forecast. MADE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS The finder: a camera built like an instrument — ISO, shutter, exposure and lens on a real control deck, a shutter that claims the ground under your feet. • Time capsules: seal a note on a print's back. It opens when you return to that ground, or on a day you choose. • Sound at claim: ten seconds of the place — wind, gulls, a tram — kept with the print. On when you want it. • Living prints: a print made from a Live Photo moves again. • The sky, where you stand: sun, moon and horizon on your own compass, live. • Search your archive in words, with membership: a tram at dusk, the sea, the harbour in winter. • Walks from your Apple Watch, with membership: walks you track in Apple Health land on the map and clear the fog along their route. • Widgets, and a camera button for Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button. YOURS Your prints live on your phone, and Backup & export puts a full copy in your hands whenever you like. There is no account, and Gazer keeps no copy of your places or photographs. • Location only while you use the app; a quiet background sky check reuses the last place your phone knew and never tracks you. • Gazer reads your photo library only after you allow it, and only what you approve reaches the map. Gazer is for the people who photograph the places they walk through — and want the map to remember.
THE WORLD, AS YOU MAKE IT
The fog: dark until you've been there.
MADE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
The finder: a camera built like an instrument — ISO, shutter, exposure and lens on a real control deck, a shutter that claims the ground under your feet. • Time capsules: seal a note on a print's back.
