Core writing, saved phrases, handwriting recognition, device voices, and on-device voice cloning can work without internet. No PencilTalk subscription. • HOW IT WORKS Write with your finger or a compatible stylus, including Apple Pencil on iPad, or type directly. PencilTalk recognizes your handwriting and speaks your message aloud. Choose how and when it speaks: Manual — press Speak when ready Auto Sentence — speaks at the end of each sentence Auto Pause — speaks the full message after a 1.5-second pause Word-by-Word — speaks each word as you finish it Continuous — speaks the updated message while you write • QUICK MESSAGE & UNDO Create a one-tap message for moments when you need to communicate immediately. Undo restores your last spoken message to the text field. • YOUR VOICE, YOUR WAY Choose from your device's available speech voices, adjust speaking rate, and preview voices before selecting one. On supported Apple devices, PencilTalk can also work with Apple Personal Voice. • ON-DEVICE VOICE CLONING Create a custom cloned voice from a short recording or supported audio sample. Voice cloning is processed locally on your device and the generated voice profile stays on your device. Choose a speaking style, preview it, save it, and use it as your PencilTalk voice. Availability and performance depend on device capabilities. • OPTIONAL ELEVENLABS VOICES Connect your own ElevenLabs API key to use supported voices from your ElevenLabs account inside PencilTalk. Your key is stored securely on your device and is masked after saving. ElevenLabs speech requires internet and uses ElevenLabs' servers, account, credits, plans, and service availability. Any ElevenLabs charges or subscriptions are separate from PencilTalk and managed by ElevenLabs. • SAVED PHRASES Keep frequently used sentences ready to speak instantly. If you choose ElevenLabs, the text you ask it to speak is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. This optional feature requires internet and is subject to ElevenLabs' own service and account terms.
