About

Roster turns your club, team or office into a monthly fitness competition — and scores it for you. YOUR WORKOUTS, ALREADY RECORDED Roster reads what Apple Health already has. Whatever records your workouts — your Apple Watch, a treadmill app, a bike computer, a gym machine — ends up in Health, and Roster scores it. There is nothing to log, nothing to start and stop, and no second tracker to remember. A COMPETITION, NOT A TRACKER Apple Fitness already counts your rings. Roster is about the people you are competing with: where you sit on the leaderboard, how far ahead the person above you is, and exactly what it would take to pass them before the month ends. HOW IT SCORES Points come from how long you went, how far, and how much you climbed, at rates your club sets for each of more than fifty sports. There is a once-a-day base credit for your best activity and a separate bonus for your daily step count. Heart rate adds an effort bonus — and never a penalty, so no heart rate simply means no bonus. Every activity shows its full arithmetic. No black box: tap any workout and see exactly where each point came from. INDIVIDUALS OR TEAMS Run it head-to-head, or split the club into teams with their own leaderboard. Switch between them whenever you like — nothing is locked in when you create the club. MONTHS THAT END A competition runs a calendar month, then closes and freezes its final standings, and a fresh one opens automatically. The top three get a podium, past months stay readable, and last month's result never changes underneath you. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Clubs are private and joined with a code — there is no directory and nothing to stumble into. Your points and your position are visible to your club, because that is what a competition is. The details of a workout are shared only if you turn sharing on, and it is off until you choose. YOUR HEART RATE IS NEVER SHOWN TO ANYONE Not the number, and not the multiplier it produces. It is used to calculate your own effort bonus and nothing else. That is a promise the app is built around rather than a setting. ALSO IN THE BOX • Cheer — or gently rib — your club's workouts in the feed • Streaks, badges and milestones as you hit them • Add a workout by hand if a tracker missed one • Admin tools: club rules, per-sport rates, teams, and a review queue • Notifications when somebody passes you, or when syncing stops Roster requires an iPhone and Apple Health.
