From recipe to bench record, Buffercast plans lab buffers the way they are actually made: formulation, execution, and the evidence trail, all on this device. FORMULATION CONTROL - Maintain multiple named formulations with revisions, intended use, target volume, pH, tolerance, and working temperature - Model solid-molar, stock-molar, mass-per-volume, weight/volume-percent, and volume/volume-percent components - Record lot identity, addition sequence, molecular mass, source concentration, and target concentration - Use an optional conjugate-pair planning estimate with explicit acid and base roles - Fingerprint the complete formulation record with SHA-256 TRANSPARENT PLANNING - Review every planned quantity with its equation and units - Inspect the idealized Henderson-Hasselbalch ratio used for a conjugate pair - Surface missing lots, invalid inputs, liquid-volume overruns, low final-volume reserve, temperature gaps, and targets outside the conventional pKa working window - Keep planning estimates visibly separate from measured values BATCH EXECUTION - Work through a defined preparation checklist - Record operator, run code, start time, and status - Compare planned and actual additions with percent deviations - Capture timestamped pH observations, temperature, reagent, adjustment type, volume, and notes - Keep a documented deviation note with the run QUALITY EVIDENCE - Record final measured pH, temperature, appearance, meter and electrode identity, and calibration evidence - Assign an explicit accept, reject, or review disposition with reviewer and decision note - See whether required measurement and calibration evidence is missing before handoff REPRODUCIBLE EXPORTS Build a four-file evidence packet containing a readable PDF batch report, additions CSV, pH-observations CSV, and structured JSON snapshot. Reports include formulation identity, equations, source lots, actuals, deviations, QC evidence, disposition, and the formulation fingerprint. Buffercast works without an account, subscription, analytics, advertising, tracking, or developer-operated cloud service. Records remain in the app container unless you explicitly export them through Apple's share sheet. Buffercast supports planning and documentation. Calculations are estimates from user-entered values and do not replace validated procedures, calibrated measurements, SDS instructions, manufacturer documentation, chemical-hygiene controls, or qualified review.
