About

Dr.Herb is a private, offline herbal reference: fast, evidence-aware summaries with no network connection, no account and no advert. Dr.Herb is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It does not prescribe or recommend any herb or dose. Entries summarise published reference material and are shown with their evidence standing — never as a prescription. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. WHAT IT DOES • 322 monographs, each with uses, preparation, dosage context, evidence notes and a cautions card. 122 carry a reviewed botanical photograph. • Search by herb name or by sickness — type "insomnia" and get the herbs the guide indicates for it, ranked ahead of passing mentions. • Browse 18 body systems, ordered by strength of published evidence. That ordering is not about which herb suits you. • Evidence badges — Strong, Moderate, Preliminary, Mixed, Traditional, or Not supported. 170 of 322 entries are gradeable and show one; the rest show none, because a badge we can't stand behind is worse than no badge. • Every entry cites its sources. Tap Sources on any herb, or on any warning in the interaction checker, to open the record behind it — EMA/HMPC, the WHO monographs, Health Canada, the US NIH, EFSA and the published literature. • Interaction checker — pick a medication class or safety factor and see every herb whose cautions mention it. The app says on screen what that means: a match is not a severity rating, and no match is not a clearance. • Favourites and per-herb notes, kept below the reference text so the two never blur. • Regimen tracking — record which herbs you take and on which days, write your own dose note, and mark a dose taken. It records your decisions; it never suggests a herb, a dose or a schedule. • An optional daily reminder, off until you turn it on, silent, and worded as a count. It never names a herb, so nothing about what you take shows on your lock screen. • Export and import — a JSON backup plus a notes CSV. Import merges, so loading the wrong file cannot silently wipe your work. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No ads. No account. No subscription. Works in airplane mode. The app has no network code at all. Everything renders from bundled files and local storage. The only permission it ever asks for is notifications, and only if you switch the reminder on. There is no location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar or storage permission. Dr.Herb runs no cloud backup of its own, because it has no server. Your iPhone's own encrypted backup, which you control in iOS Settings, may include app data. ONE PURCHASE. THE WHOLE APP. One upfront purchase unlocks everything: no herb limit, no feature tier, nothing held back. PHOTOGRAPHS Botanical images come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, credited under each photo and in Settings. They are for visual context — never identify a plant you intend to consume from a photograph in an app.Read more
