About

Two or three people draw one monster together. Nobody sees the whole thing until it is finished. Somebody draws the head. Somebody draws the body. Somebody draws the legs, and nobody sees more than the last few marks the player before them left behind. Every part is a guess at what the rest might be. Then the paper opens, and you find out what you made. It is never what anyone intended. That is the point. HOW A GAME GOES Three turns, one creature: head, body, legs. With three players you take one part each. With two, one of you takes two turns. Pick how many are playing and you are drawing within a couple of taps. WHO IT IS FOR Anyone who can draw. There is no reading, no timer, no score, so a five-year-old and a grandparent can play the same round and both be surprised at the end of it. - Families at the kitchen table, with a child who cannot spell yet but can absolutely draw a monster with eight eyes - The two of you on the sofa, a quiet evening in - Friends around a table, where the reveal is the whole event and somebody always laughs too loudly - Parties, where it goes around the room and everyone ends up leaning in to watch - Long car journeys, one phone travelling up and down the back seats - Waiting rooms, airports, and restaurants before the food arrives - Grandparents, cousins and old friends in other countries, each drawing their part whenever it suits them - Classrooms, clubs and rainy afternoons that need filling ON ONE DEVICE Pass the iPhone or iPad around. Your part folds away before you hand it over, so there is nothing to peek at and nobody has to be trusted. Games on one device work completely offline - in a tunnel, a plane or a cabin in the woods is fine. FROM YOUR OWN PHONES Send a link or a game code, and everyone draws their part from wherever they are, whenever it suits them. Nobody has to be in the same room, or awake at the same hour. DRAW HOWEVER YOU LIKE Ink, pencil, crayon and an eraser, with a fingertip or an Apple Pencil. Undo as often as you want. KEEP WHAT YOU MAKE Every finished monster goes into your gallery. Name them, share them, and find them again on your other devices. FOR PARENTS No ads. No accounts and no sign-up. No chat and no strangers. A remote game reaches only the people you send the link to, and nothing your child draws leaves the app unless you share it yourself. WHERE IT COMES FROM Monster Maker is built on "vika gubbe", a Swedish paper-and-pencil game families have played for generations: fold a sheet in three, draw your part, fold it away, pass it on. Same game, on paper that folds itself. License Agreement: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/Read more
