You don't conquer Rome in a day. Roma Aeterna is a Roman history quiz with a pyramid for you to climb: seven steps from Recruit to Emperor. To advance in rank, you must make it through ten questions. THE CLIMB Recruit, Legionary, Centurion, Tribune, Praetor, Consul, Emperor. You face ten questions at each step, and they get harder as you climb. Reach the top for your coronation. THREE WAYS TO PLAY • EASY — you can make two mistakes • MEDIUM — you can make one mistake • HARD — you can't make any mistakes Each mode has its own separate climb. Reaching Emperor on HARD is another thing entirely. THE RULES • Thirty seconds per question • You answer in two stages: tap your choice, then confirm it, so a stray tap won't end your game • You get two lifelines per game, one use each: “Ask the Senate” removes two wrong answers; “Consult the Oracle” reveals the right one • After every answer, you get an explanation: why the right answer is correct, and how we know THE QUESTIONS Nearly 800 questions, each written and verified against ancient sources and modern scholarship. You explore history from the Punic Wars to the fall of the Roman Empire, including institutions, everyday life and culture, technology, geography, and historical figures. The game remembers the questions you've already seen and gives you new ones first. FIVE LANGUAGES Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish.
