About
An alarm app that actually gets you out of bed. Daybreak rings at full volume even when your phone is on silent or in a Focus mode, wakes you with a song from your own music library, and, if you want, won't stop until you've walked a few steps or solved some math. No more sleeping through a muted alarm or swiping it off half-asleep. Features: Wakes you through silent mode and Focus. Unlike a normal notification, Daybreak plays your alarm at full volume even if your ringer is off or a Focus is on. Wake-up missions. Choose to make the alarm refuse to stop until you've completed a task such as walk a number of steps, or solve some math problems. It's a lot harder to fall back asleep once you're up and moving. Missions are optional; you can also just tap to dismiss. Your music as the alarm. Pick any song from your Apple Music or iTunes library, or choose one of the built-in tones. Quick alarm. Need a nap? Tap the timer button and stack up buttons like +5 min, +30 min, and +1 hour to set a one-off alarm without picking a clock time. Gentle volume ramp. The alarm can fade in over a few seconds instead of blasting you awake instantly. Snooze on your terms. Set how long snooze lasts and how many times it's allowed. Sunrise countdown. The home screen shows a sunrise arc that fills as your next alarm approaches. Set alarms with Siri. "Set a Daybreak alarm," "When's my next Daybreak alarm," or turn alarms on and off by voice. Backup system alarm. As a safety net, Daybreak also sets a system alarm so you'll still be woken even if the app gets closed. How to use it: Setting an alarm Tap the + button in the top-right. Spin the dial to your wake-up time. Choose which days it repeats (leave all off for a one-time alarm). Pick your sound — tap Wake-up song to choose from your library, or pick a built-in notification tone. Choose a wake-up mission (steps, math, or none). Adjust snooze and vibration under Options, then tap Save. Setting a quick alarm Tap the timer button in the top-left. Tap the + buttons to build up the time — for example, +1 hour, +5 min, and +1 min sets an alarm for 1 hour and 6 minutes from now. The exact ring time is shown as you go. Tap Set alarm. Permissions: Daybreak asks for a few permissions the first time you use the features that need them: Notifications (required) — so your alarm can reach you. Motion & Fitness (optional) — to count your steps for the steps mission. Music Library (optional) — to play a song from your library as the alarm. You can grant or change these any time in the Settings app under Daybreak.Read more
