About

Before you met, you almost met. Have We Met pairs two people and compares the where and when their photo libraries already remember, then shows you every time your paths nearly crossed before you knew each other. The same beach. The same concert. Sometimes minutes apart. HOW IT WORKS One of you starts a session and sends the other a private code. Each of you runs a scan on your own phone. Only the location and time attached to your photos leave your device — never the photos themselves. About a minute later, your moments appear. WHAT YOU'LL FIND Every crossing is a moment: the place, the dates, how far apart you were, and how much time separated you. They arrive in chapters, from the near-misses that will make you look twice to the times you were a little further apart. Every one is worth a look. - Same Place, Same Time — under 500 feet, within hours - Just Missed Each Other — the same block, a day or two apart - Close Encounters — the same neighborhood, the same week - Same Place, Anytime — the places you've both stood, years apart Set the month and year you met, and your results split into Before and After: the near-misses of two strangers, and the places you've both been since. REVEAL, IF YOU CHOOSE Every moment starts with the photo you took, the date, and the distance and time separating you. Revealing your photo of that moment is a separate, deliberate step: you see exactly which picture would be shared with your paired partner, and you can take it back at any time. Nothing is shared unless you choose to. Compare the photos you both took during this moment and discover a potentially amazing connection. Open any moment to see both paths drawn on a map to visualize your crossing. Share a Moment Card — the place, the dates, and, only when you've both revealed them, the photos — to show others what you've uncovered. BUILT AROUND CONSENT - Two yeses, always. Nothing happens to anyone who didn't opt in. - Metadata first. Your photos stay on your phone through the entire scan. Only the time and location attached to the photos are collected, unless you choose to Reveal. - Reveals are reversible. Revoke a photo and it leaves your partner's view and our servers. - No feed, no strangers, no discovery. The only person who sees your results is the one you paired with. - Sessions are private and short-lived. Your scan data is deleted within a day of the session ending. Have We Met works with any two photo libraries that carry location data — most phones have recorded it for years. The further back your photos go, the longer the story.
