About
Life can bring stress, uncertainty and unexpected challenges. SOLAR-R provides practical tools you can use anytime, anywhere to help manage pressure and support your wellbeing. Built with regional, rural and remote Australian communities, SOLAR-R is a free, self-guided app being evaluated as part of a research trial exploring how digital tools may support people through real-life challenges, including work, family, financial pressures, major life changes and difficult experiences. The program is based on Skills fOr Life Adjustment and Resilience (SOLAR), an evidence-based approach that helps people build practical skills for navigating challenging experiences. What you’ll learn Over eight short modules, SOLAR-R introduces practical strategies to help you: • Build healthy routines that support both physical and emotional wellbeing • Manage stress, strong emotions and unhelpful thinking patterns • Strengthen relationships and stay connected to the people who matter most • Focus on what matters to you, move forward after difficult experiences and create a plan for the future SOLAR-R is flexible and designed to be used privately, at your own pace. There are no appointments or travel required, and you can complete each module when it works for you. By taking part in the SOLAR-R Trial, you’ll contribute to research exploring how digital tools may support regional, rural and remote Australian communities. As part of the trial, you’ll: • Complete a short baseline survey before starting • Use SOLAR-R over five weeks • Complete follow-up surveys at seven weeks and three months Your contribution will help researchers better understand how app-based programs may support people experiencing stress and challenging life circumstances. The SOLAR-R Trial is led by Phoenix Australia with support from The Latrobe Health Services Foundation. This project has been reviewed and approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of Melbourne. (HREC ID: 2026-34301-83137-5) Who is SOLAR-R for? SOLAR-R is designed for adults aged 18 years and over who live in, or have strong ties to, a regional, rural or remote Australian community.
