ChrisGuard alerts your primary emergency contact by SMS when you do not check in on time. The alarm runs on our server, not only on your phone. After the server confirms the session, it can attempt the alert even if your phone is dead, lost or offline. Delivery depends on available SMS credit, our service and the mobile networks. Your contact does not need the app. Use it for a run, a hike, solo travel, a late walk home or a first date. HOW IT WORKS • Set a timer and choose your emergency contact. • ChrisGuard sends the session to its server. • Check in before the timer ends and nothing happens. • If you do not check in, the server sends one SMS to your primary contact, optionally with your location. FEATURES • Server-side alarm after the session is confirmed • Store up to 5 emergency contacts and 8 activity presets; each alarm alerts one primary contact • Optional location in the alert SMS • Safety Checkpoints (optional): location updates during a session, so your primary contact gets your last known position if your phone dies • Grace period: 45 seconds before the deadline, the app asks you to check in • Apple Watch app • English and German PRIVACY • No ads and no tracking • Crash and performance diagnostics help identify technical problems • The server processes a technical device identifier, purchases, session data, selected phone numbers and alert text; contact names are not sent as contact fields • Location updates are sent during active sessions. The separate last-position field is cleared when a session ends; location included in encrypted alert text may remain with that text. • Your sessions, contacts and presets sync through your private iCloud • An optional ChrisGuard account supports Sign in with Apple and linked passkeys; iCloud sync uses the iCloud account on your device independently • Delete your account and ChrisGuard data in Settings, including local data, the current private iCloud data and linked backend profiles; cancel Apple subscriptions separately • Phone numbers and alert text are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM); technical session and purchase records can remain after a session ends SUBSCRIPTIONS ChrisGuard requires a subscription. All plans include every feature. They differ in the monthly SMS allowance: • Basic: 5 alert SMS per month • Standard: 10 alert SMS per month • Premium: 20 alert SMS per month Each plan is available monthly or yearly. Extra SMS packs are available as in-app purchases. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.
