About
Tameside Tails On Trails is for the person at the other end of the lead: the walks, the dogs themselves, and what to do when something goes wrong. TRACKING A WALK Start it and the route draws itself on the map as you go, with distance, time and pace. It keeps measuring with the phone locked or in your pocket, and stops the moment you finish. The clock pauses on its own when you stand still — a walk is mostly sniffing — and starts again when you move. Start a planned walk straight from the calendar or the home screen and it is marked off when you finish. WHAT HAPPENED ON IT Wee, poo, water, treat: one tap each, pinned to where you were standing. Add a typed note, or press record and say it — faster than typing with a lead in one hand. THE HOME SCREEN Today's walks, the next one planned, the distance this month, and the jabs and worming coming due, on a photograph that follows light and dark mode. Quick tools sit underneath as a carousel or a grid. THE DOGS THEMSELVES Each dog has a record: breed, age, weight over time, allergies, medication, the vet's number, the microchip, the insurer. Jabs, worming and flea treatment carry their next due date, and the app says which are close and which have lapsed. BREED GUIDE AND TRAINING A guide to 63 breeds, with each one's group, size, how much walking it needs and what its coat asks for, searchable and filtered by group. Ten training cards — recall, heel, loose leash walking, wait at doors, drop it, leave it and more — three steps each, with a best-practice tip. FIRST AID A library of what to do right now, sorted into emergency, injury, illness and environment, plus illustrated cards for eight emergencies, each set out a step at a time. Searchable, and honest about being reference rather than a vet. The emergency number sits at the top of the screen. First aid is free, always. PLANNING AND THE CALENDAR Plan a walk — which dog, what kind, how long, when — and it appears on the home screen and in the month view, with birthdays, supplies running out and medical dates alongside. Edit or delete a plan whenever it changes. AND THE REST Walk history, birthdays, a toy box, expenses, supplies before they run out, a photo gallery, spoken notes, a PIN lock, light and dark, miles or kilometres. WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES Your dogs, walks, routes, photographs and notes are kept on your phone, in the app's own storage, and are never uploaded. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. A few things go to our own server, and only when you use the feature that needs them: your email address if you sign in or claim access you have been given; a notification token, with the phone model and app version, if you switch notifications on; and a random install ID that lets an App Store purchase be matched to you. None of it is shared or sold. SUBSCRIPTION Tracking a walk, your dogs and first aid are free. Dog Walker Full Access unlocks everything else. Two lengths: Monthly (one month) and Quarterly (three months). New subscribers get the first month free; the trial becomes a paid subscription unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. The price is shown in the app before anything is bought, and varies by country. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel it from the Manage subscription button in the app, or in your App Store account settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running.
