About

This is a study app for the Class 1 Refrigeration Machine Operator (1st Class Refrigeration) examination. This is an unofficial app independently developed and not affiliated with the High Pressure Gas Safety Association (KHK). It is not approved, recommended, or supervised by the KHK. It does not guarantee passing or scoring. The 1st Class Refrigeration Operator license is a category of manufacturing safety manager license related to the production of high-pressure gases for refrigeration, with no upper limit on the scope of duties based on refrigeration capacity. The exam consists of three subjects: laws and regulations, safety management technology, and academic knowledge. Only the academic knowledge section is essay-based. This app reconstructs the academic knowledge calculations by focusing on "which state points are measured in what units" rather than "memorizing formulas." The laws and regulations section is broken down into "who, at which facility, and by when," and the safety management technology section is arranged in the order of "heat and pressure conditions → management for each piece of equipment → protective devices → inspection and abnormalities." ■ How to Learn For each topic, the following steps are presented consecutively: ① Read (understanding article and diagram) → ② Solve (6 multiple-choice practice questions) → ③ Return (to the heading you got wrong). The explanations for the problems indicate "where in the article to return to," allowing you to reread only the parts you didn't understand. The academic questions involve selecting one step at a time in calculations, such as how to calculate specific enthalpy differences, signs, unit conversions, and the sum of required refrigeration capacities. This is not a reproduction of the actual exam's written answers, partial scoring, or grading format. ■ Contents - 45 articles on understanding (20 on laws and regulations, 15 on safety management technology, 10 on academic knowledge. One article per topic) - 45 diagrams (located within the articles) - 270 multiple-choice practice drills (120 on laws and regulations, 90 on safety management technology, 60 on academic knowledge) - 40 mock exam questions (20 on laws and regulations, 15 on safety management technology, 5 on academic knowledge. The number of questions per subject will match the actual exam, and questions will be drawn from these 270. The actual exam is held at different times for each subject, but in the app, you will solve them continuously.) - Weakness review (Incorrectly answered questions will be resubmitted the next day, 3 days later, and 7 days later) ■ Scope of Work [Laws and Regulations] Definition of high-pressure gas and purpose of the law / Scope of application to refrigeration equipment and classification of refrigerant gases / Calculation of daily refrigeration capacity / Boundaries of Type 1, Type 2, and other manufacturers / Permits, notifications, and succession / Location, structure, strength, and testing of manufacturing facilities / Safety devices against pressure, leakage, and fire / Manufacturing methods, daily inspections, and measures during repairs / Technical standards for Type 2 and other manufacturers / Change procedures and minor changes / Storage, movement, import, disposal, and notification of commencement and discontinuation / Completion inspection and commencement of use / Hazard prevention regulations and safety education / Appointment of refrigeration safety manager and scope of duties of the license / Duties of the manager and substitute / Safety inspection / Periodic self-inspection / Measures in case of danger, fire restrictions, and accident reporting / Certification system, designated equipment, and refrigeration equipment / Administrative supervision and penalties [Safety Management Technology] Temperature, pressure, How to Read Heat Quantity / Phase Change and Sensible/Latent Heat / Single-Stage, Double-Stage, and Cascade Cooling / P-H Diagram, Heat Balance, and Coefficient of Performance / Heat Load, Required Capacity, and Legal Capacity / Refrigerant Classification and Hazard Prevention Equipment / Indirect Cooling and Brine Cooling / Compressors and Abnormally High Temperatures and High Pressures / Condenser and Cooling Water / Evaporator and Low-Pressure Side / Expansion Process / Piping, Valves, and Leak Prevention / Safety Devices, Automatic Control, and Interlocks / Inspection Information and Initial Actions in Case of Abnormalities / Maintenance, Repair, and Inspection [Academic Knowledge] Heat Quantity, Heat Capacity, and Specific Heat Capacity / Heat Quantity of Sensible and Latent Heat / How to Read Specific Enthalpy Difference / Phase Changes in the Four Processes / Refrigeration Effect and Compression Work / Condenser Heat Dissipation, Heat Balance, and Coefficient of Performance / Comparison of Cooling Water Temperature and Coefficient of Performance / Total Heat Loss and Required Refrigeration Capacity / Heat Path of Brine Systems / Legal Refrigeration Capacity and the Appropriate Use of Cycle Calculations ■ Free Trial Content Three comprehension articles (one each from laws, safety management technology, and academic knowledge) and 18 practice drill questions are available without purchase (answers and explanations are also free). ■ Pricing The app itself is free. Only unlocking all learning materials requires an in-app purchase (one-time payment), and the amount will be displayed on the store's purchase screen. There are no monthly fees. No ads are displayed. There are no additional charges. After changing devices or reinstalling, you can reread the materials from "Restore Purchases" (unlimited free replays). ■ How the Learning Materials are Created We have newly written all articles, diagrams, and questions based only on the original text of laws and regulations in effect on the exam's legal reference date (April 1, 2026) (e-Gov Law Search: High Pressure Gas Safety Act, Enforcement Order, Refrigeration Safety Regulations, General High Pressure Gas Safety Regulations, Examination Regulations) and materials published by public institutions such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, the Building Research Institute, and the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan. I did not use past exam questions, commercially available textbooks, or study websites. I only used materials from the exam administering body to confirm operational facts such as the exam date, subjects, number of questions, and passing criteria. I used AI to create articles, diagrams, and questions (the AI does not operate within the app itself). Furthermore, I had another AI solve all 270 questions with the answers hidden to ensure there were no discrepancies in the answers, and I cross-referenced the descriptions with primary sources. This work has not been supervised by qualified professionals or experts. ■ About the Exam (Information confirmed in the Exam Guide) ・Laws and Regulations: 20 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes / Security Management Technology: 15 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes / Academic Knowledge: 5 essay questions, 120 minutes (different time slots for each subject) ・The passing criteria, as stated in the Exam Guide, is "approximately 60 percent of the perfect score for each subject." The app's evaluation is a learning guideline only and does not guarantee a fixed number of correct answers or a passing score. ・There are no restrictions on eligibility to take the exam. Those holding a certificate of completion for the Class 1 Refrigeration Machinery Training Course can apply for an exemption from the Safety Management Technology and Academic Knowledge sections (exemption is not automatic). Please check the latest information in the examination guide provided by the examination administering body. Information may change from year to year. ■ Usability - Study materials are included in the app. You can read them offline while studying. - You can choose from three font sizes (Standard/Large/Extra Large). - Study records (answer history, reading status, review schedule) are saved only on your device. There is no account registration or login required. The academic knowledge section of the actual exam is essay-based, and the app's multiple-choice questions are for checking understanding. Thermodynamic properties of individual refrigerants, detailed equipment structure, the training and examination itself, work procedures for equipment installation, and administrative judgments regarding license applications and appointments are not covered. * This is a learning support app created independently by our company. It is not affiliated with the examination administering body and is not an official study material approved, recommended, or supervised by them. * It does not guarantee passing or achieving a score. "Maniakun" is a series of study materials written from scratch for each qualification. This Type 1 Refrigeration Machine Operator version was created independently for the three subjects, including the written knowledge section, and is a separate study material from the Type 2 and Type 3 Refrigeration Machine Operator versions.
