About

Play Ghanaian Oware and Yoruba Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n. Learn four distinct mancala rulesets through guided lessons, challenge Kofi AI, solve strategy puzzles, or share one device for local two-player matches—even offline. Oware belongs to the wider Mancala family and is also searched under names such as Awale, Awari, Wari, and Ayo. Names and regional rules vary, so this app labels every included ruleset clearly rather than treating the traditions as interchangeable. Oware Ayo combines a clear, crafted board with thoughtful computer opponents, tactical practice, match review, and private progress stored on your device. LEARN BY PLAYING Short lessons teach sowing, capturing, feeding, and strategy directly on the board before your first match. Legal-move highlights, optional seed counts, hints, sound, haptics, and readable move feedback help newcomers understand each turn. PLAY OFFLINE YOUR WAY • Challenge Kofi at three strengths and three playing styles • Play local two-player matches on one device • Choose one game, first to two, or first to three for local series • Explore four named rulesets: Oware Abapa, Anan-Anan, Nam-Nam, and Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n • Solve tactical positions and build skill-based mastery • Review completed matches and decisive moments • Resume unfinished matches safely • Track private records and ruleset results on your device • Choose high contrast, reduced motion, sound, haptics, and seed-count settings FOUR DISTINCT RULESETS Abapa uses feeding and backward two-or-three captures. Anan-Anan centers on making fours. Nam-Nam continues across territory rounds. Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n uses relay sowing. Each ruleset is named separately because regional names and rules are not always interchangeable. FREE TO PLAY, ALL FOUR GAMES Every ruleset is free and fully playable offline against Kofi or in local two-player mode. Optional rewarded ads can try a board for one match, add a hint, or double the seeds you earned in a finished Kofi match. Ads never interrupt a match, lesson, or animation, and never open on their own. SUPPORTER PACK The one-time Supporter Pack permanently unlocks every current and future board design, removes every ad offer, and includes two free hints per Kofi match. It supports development and keeps all four rulesets free for everyone. Purchases can be restored from Variants. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account is required. Matches, settings, statistics, and progress remain on your device. Usage analytics and crash sharing are separate optional choices in Settings and remain off until enabled.Read more

Versions

  1. Version 1.1.2First seen · 1 Oct 2026

New weekly challenge: five Oware positions, the same for every player, one try each — share your score with friends. Share cards have a new design. Stuck games now end fairly: you're warned first, and the match only ends when a position repeats a third time or no capture happens for 200 moves. Plus a setting to alternate the first move with Kofi, clearer records, and many small fixes.
