ThaiTalk is a simple voice translator for English and Thai that works completely offline. It was made for real conversations with family in places with no internet: village visits, rural trips, long flights. ThaiTalk runs Google's open Gemma 4 AI model right on your iPhone, so nothing you say ever leaves your phone. HOW IT WORKS - Tap the blue button and speak English. ThaiTalk writes it in natural, polite Thai and reads it aloud. - Tap the red button when someone speaks Thai. ThaiTalk shows what they said and translates it into English. - Prefer typing? Type English or Thai and tap Go. - Every translation shows what was heard, so you can check it. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. - Speech is processed on the device and never uploaded. ONE-TIME SETUP On first launch ThaiTalk downloads the Gemma 4 model (about 2.6 GB) over Wi-Fi. After that it works with no internet at all. GOOD TO KNOW - Works best with short, clear sentences (up to 25 seconds at a time). - Choose whether Thai ends with krub (male) or ka (female) in Settings. - Translations are read aloud with the iPhone's built-in voices. If you don't hear Thai, add the Thai voice in Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices. - AI translation can make mistakes, so double-check anything important.
