Hold your phone to your chest. Spin. Count. Try not to fall over. Spin Thing is the world's simplest, silliest, dizziest game. Your phone's motion sensors count every full rotation you make, and a very judgmental app tells you exactly how impressive (or not) you are. HOW TO PLAY 1. Tap Start. 2. Hold your phone flat against your chest, screen up, with both hands. 3. Once you're steady, GO! flashes and the round begins. 4. Spin! The big number in the middle is your spin count. 5. Stop, fall, or hand the phone to a friend, and the round is over. THE UNWIND MECHANIC Spin the other way and your count unwinds. Five spins clockwise and two counter-clockwise is three. Spin too far backwards and you'll go negative, which the app will also comment on. THE NUMBER GETS ANGRY The count starts white and slowly turns red as you rack up spins. From 15 spins on it starts to flash, and the faster you spin, the faster it flashes. (Reduce Motion users get a gentle pulse instead of flashing.) A JOKE FOR EVERY OCCASION Every result comes with a message that matches your spin count, from "Warm-Up" all the way to "Beyond Science". Hundreds of lines, shuffled so you don't see repeats until you've seen them all. LEADERBOARDS Three offline boards: Most Spins in a single round, Fastest (peak RPM), and Most Rounds played. Swipe to delete an entry, or wipe the lot. Add your name when you make the top 10. CHAIR DETECTION Spinning on an office chair? We can tell. Spin Thing notices the lack of footsteps, the smooth coast-downs and the sneaky kicks. You can keep going, but you'll be publicly branded a CHAIR CHEATER. CHEAT DETECTION Turntable? Lazy Susan? Drill? Phone spinning on a table? Nice try. Fake spins are detected and the round is disqualified. SHARE THE DIZZINESS Share your score as text and a 1080×1080 score card with the bracket title and your personal roast. SAFETY FIRST You are spinning in circles holding a glass rectangle. Clear the area, spin on something soft, and don't be an idiot (or do, but carefully). The app has a disclaimer you must accept, and you should mean it. NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO ACCOUNT.
