About

Which night will the full Moon rise behind that tower? Skylune tells you — then shows tonight's Moon, tonight's light and where to point your camera, on one quiet screen. No subscription, no account, no network. Today and a week either side, every widget, the Live Activity and Apple Watch are free forever. One small purchase unlocks any date, the planner's full year, saved plans and every reminder — shared with your family. PLAN THE SHOT • Pick a template — full Moon behind a landmark, sunset at the end of a street, the Moon low over a place — point your iPhone at it and get every night in the coming year that lines up • Light on the landscape: each full-moon night says whether it is still daylight, blue hour or dark when the Moon comes up, and how many minutes from sunset • How big will the Moon be? Choose camera and lens, give the landmark's height and distance, and see the Moon beside it at scale • Ridge horizon: when a hill or skyline hides the horizon, aim at its top and the planner works out when the Moon actually clears it • My plans: keep the nights you mean to shoot; reminders the evening before and two hours ahead • Share a plan card, or add your own photo with the date, bearing and place along the bottom WHY SKYLUNE • Not a drawing: NASA's near-side imagery, lit exactly like tonight's Moon, waxing on the right side for your hemisphere • Not just the phase: sunrise, sunset, golden hour, blue hour and the moonless dark window on the same screen as the Moon • Not a guess: tap "Sky now" and a dial turns with your iPhone — "Turn left 35°, look up 24°" • Not a subscription: pay once if you want more, or never • Not online: every number is computed on your device from astronomical formulas (Meeus); nothing is collected, ever FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND STARGAZERS • Golden hour and blue hour to the minute, morning and evening • The compass bearing of every sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset • Astronomical night and the moonless dark window — when the sky is truly dark for stars and the Milky Way • Add to Calendar: full and new moons, golden hours, eclipses and your planned nights • Drag along the day to preview any hour: the sky colour, the Moon and Sun positions all follow • Night vision: a red-light mode that keeps your eyes dark-adapted • Share tonight's Moon as a picture — real surface, phase, moonrise and your place TONIGHT AND THE WEEK AHEAD • Phase name, illumination, moon age and a countdown to the next full or new moon • Sky now: whether the Moon is up, where to look, and when it rises or sets • Moonrise and moonset, spring or neap tide • A two-week strip of moons with a darkness bar under every night; swipe the Moon itself to change the day • Full moons by name — Harvest Moon, Blue Moon, supermoon, micromoon • Eclipses for the next year, with what you will actually see from your place • Moon tonight Live Activity: a moonrise countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, then where to look • Siri and Shortcuts: "What's the moon tonight", "Where is the Moon" ON EVERY SCREEN — FREE • Home Screen widgets: moon phase, moon this week, golden hour, where's the Moon • Lock Screen widgets (circular, rectangular, inline) and StandBy, including night mode • Apple Watch: tonight's Moon and Sun on your wrist, complications for every face, and the Moon finder • Control Center: open Skylune, or start tracking tonight's Moon (iOS 18) • A quiet note on the evening of each full and new moon UNLOCK, ONCE • Any date, past or future • The planner's full year of nights, as many saved plans as you like, and their reminders • A whole month of moons in one grid, with full moons, new moons and supermoons marked • Every reminder: quarter moons at your hour, golden hour 15 minutes ahead, moonrise and sunset with where to look, visible eclipses • One purchase, shared with your family. No subscription. ALSO • Runs on Apple-silicon Macs as an iPad app • In English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, Deutsch, Français and EspañolRead more

Pick what you're after — full moon behind a landmark, sunset down a street, the Moon low over a spot — point your iPhone at it and see, as you turn, which months line up. Every full moon of the year is listed with how far off it is; swipe a date into your calendar. Light on the landscape: each night says how much daylight is left when the Moon comes up — still daylight, blue hour, getting dark, or dark — and picks the evening before when that one is better. How big will the Moo…
