Heroes Unite: Three Kingdoms

Heroes Unite is a side-scrolling beat 'em up set in China's Three Kingdoms era. Pick one of six heroes and fight your way from the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 AD to the final battle for Hanzhong in 219 AD. All six stages are drawn from famous scenes in the classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Each stage takes about 3 to 4 minutes and ends with a boss fight. The first 2 stages are free to play, with all six heroes available. If you enjoy them, a one-time purchase unlocks stages 3 to 6, the ending and Hard difficulty. There are no ads, no accounts and no data collection. Note: in-game text is in Traditional Chinese and Japanese (follows your device language; switchable in Settings). Menus and buttons also show short English labels. SIX HEROES, SIX WAYS TO FIGHT Guan Yu's crescent blade is slow but clears half the screen in one swing. Zhang Fei is the toughest of the group and the easiest to pick up. Zhao Yun is fast with the spear and has the widest dodge window. Sun Shangxiang's rope dart outreaches every blade and pulls enemies right in front of her. Lady Zhurong throws flaming knives from a distance. Huang Yueying fights with a mechanical arm she built herself and launches a wooden drone that shoots for her. Every hero has a combo string, a charged heavy attack, a special skill, an ultimate and a passive. Time a dodge perfectly and the game drops into slow motion. SIX FAMOUS BATTLES Stage 1, Yellow Turban Rebellion: Zhang Jiao's talismans and lightning Stage 2, Hulao Gate: Hua Xiong holds the gate, Lu Bu waits behind it Stage 3, Changban: Cao Chun and the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry Stage 4, Luo City: Zhang Ren's arrow rain in the forest Stage 5, Mount Dingjun: Xiahou Yuan's lightning-fast charges Stage 6, Hanzhong: Xu Chu clears the way for Cao Cao himself Every stage has three locked combat zones and a mid-boss before the final boss. Bosses change tactics in their second phase. STRATEGY CARDS After each stage, pick 1 of 3 strategy cards. Its effect lasts for the rest of the run, and the 15 cards combine into very different builds: more attack at the cost of more damage taken, a big boost when your health is low, heavy attacks that set enemies on fire, and more. WEAPONS FROM THE WRONG ERA Crates, jars and barrels in every stage hide at least 2 tech weapons: a beam sword, a thunder hammer, a photon hand cannon and an electromagnetic shield. Each lasts 30 seconds (40 for Huang Yueying). You will also find food that restores health, plus fire pots and poison pots to throw. TWO PLAYERS, ONE DEVICE Connect a controller and a second player can join at any time, even in the middle of a stage. Co-op brings more enemies and an extra boss move, and you can revive a fallen partner by standing next to them. EVERYONE CAN FINISH If you fall, continue on the spot as many times as you like, including in the free stages. Each continue makes you a little stronger, up to 3 times. The trade-off: that stage's score is reduced and the rank is capped at B. CONTROLS On-screen joystick plus five touch buttons. MFi, PlayStation and Xbox Bluetooth controllers are supported. GAME CENTER 16 achievements and 3 leaderboards: total score for a full run, best combo, and fastest full clear. Game Center is optional.
