About

SabrioKelmux is a pocket-sized sextant and celestial navigation calculator. It converts a sextant arc reading into a true altitude and derives latitude and longitude without a battery or connection. • Arc reading: input of the read altitude and index error, plus vernier check. • Altitude correction: horizon dip according to eye height (1.76 √height) and atmospheric refraction are subtracted automatically. • Latitude: from the noon sun's altitude using the formula Lat = 90 − true altitude + declination. • Longitude: from local noon UTC time, where one hour is 15 degrees. • Pole Star: its altitude corresponds approximately to your latitude. • Design: a monthly solar declination table and local apparent noon, plus a navigation equipment list and a shareable observation log. Suitable for sailors, mariners and astronomy enthusiasts. All calculations happen on your device without an account or login.Read more
