The line foreman just dropped a fresh die on your bench and the offcuts won't seat themselves. One gap, a handful of wedge shapes, and a code scribbled backwards in the runout groove — all before the next cycle. Die Offcuts hands you a press die with a single open seat. Turn the tray, drag the hot wedge that matches the gap, and lock it in before the bench moves on. Seat every offcut across a plate and the slip signs off with stars. Runout Scribe reads a scrambled run of matrix code off the groove. Tap the letters back in the order they played before the fuse runs out. Two benches, one night shift, a hundred and forty two levels between them. Switch benches from the bench dial, and every finished level writes a line in the Press Log — bench, level, stars, time on the clock. Free on both benches: dies up to fourteen seats and codes up to six glyphs, eighty eight levels, every badge reachable. One purchase opens the Wide Die Set — bigger plates and longer codes, fifty four more levels, kept for good. Before you clock out: Seat a full plate without a strike. Scribe a runout from memory alone. Sign off every badge on both benches.
