About
Accurate Shia (Ja'fari) prayer times, calculated on your iPhone. Namaz computes prayer times from your coordinates using published astronomical methods: the same Jean Meeus solar algorithms observatories use. Nothing is fetched, downloaded or synced. Times stay correct in Airplane Mode, in a basement and on a plane. OFFLINE AND PRIVATE The app makes no network requests of its own. Your location never leaves your iPhone, and the App Store privacy label confirms that no data is collected. You can also choose your city or enter coordinates by hand and keep location access off. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no ads. BUILT FOR SHIA PRACTICE FROM THE START Most prayer apps treat Ja'fari as an extra option. This one starts from it: • Qom (Leva Institute) by default, Tehran as an alternative, or fully custom twilight angles • Maghrib by the sun's depression below the horizon, not at sunset • Shari'i midnight: the true midpoint between Maghrib and Fajr, the end of Isha's time • An optional Imsak row with an adjustable offset • Per-prayer minute offsets, to match your local mosque or marja' • High-latitude rules for northern users: middle of the night, one-seventh, or angle-based WHAT YOU GET • Imsak, Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Sunset, Maghrib, Isha and Midnight • A live countdown to the next prayer, with the current one highlighted • A Ja'fari Hijri calendar based on crescent sighting at your location, showing Shia occasions and letting you adjust each date by up to 3 days to follow your marja' • A Qibla compass referenced to true north • Reminders for each prayer, switched on one by one • Offline city search • Light, dark or system theme; 12- or 24-hour clock • English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Gujarati and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) NAMAZ PRO Prayer times, the Qibla and reminders are free, always. Pro supports development and adds: • Widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen • An adhan or sound of your choice at prayer times • Seven more colour themes Pro is available yearly or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The yearly plan renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Prayer times depend on the calculation method, and scholars differ. The default angles follow the Qom method. If your mosque or marja' uses different values, custom angles and per-prayer offsets let you match them exactly. If you see a discrepancy, write to us. We take accuracy reports seriously; several releases came from them.
