About
CMP Shift is the staff app for cafés, bars and roasteries. Staff clock in, check their shifts and request time off from their phone, while the manager plans the week and closes the month's attendance sheet. You clock in and out from your phone and can add a note if needed. When there is no signal, the clock-in waits in a queue with the exact time you tapped and goes through when the connection returns. In "Week" you see your shifts and in "My hours" the hours you have worked. From "Requests" you ask for time off or a shift swap, which your manager approves in the app. "Notices" reminds you to clock in, tells you tomorrow's shift and brings you messages from the venue, also as notifications. If you are a manager, you also get the "Management" tab. There you find the clock-ins that need fixing and correct a day, giving the reason. You build the week's shifts, including those that run past midnight, mark absences, copy the week onto the next one and compare scheduled hours with contract hours. You save shift templates, approve requests and send a notice to all staff. At the end of the month you export the attendance sheet as an Excel file to send to your payroll consultant. The venue's iPad can become the clock-in point at the counter. A manager turns it on from the account menu with "Use as venue device". From then on everyone clocks in there with their own PIN. If you work at more than one venue, you reach them all with the same login and switch between them with "Change venue". There is no sign-up in the app, because the venue creates the account. You sign in with your email and the password you set the first time you log in. If you forget it, "Forgot password" lets you reset it. Shift does not ask for your location, your fingerprint or your face, because a clock-in is enough to show you are at work. It has no features for the venue's customers and it does not calculate payroll, which stays with your consultant. Shift was built inside CoffeeStorming, a roastery and café in Albenga, Italy. The version you download is the same one its staff use every day for shifts and clock-ins. It is part of the Coffee Marketing Pro suite, which builds the business side of the craft.Read more
