About
Washoku helps you cook Japanese food at home with what's already in your kitchen. Add a few ingredients from your fridge and the app shows the dishes you can cook right now, the dishes that need just one more item, and how to replace hard-to-find ingredients with ones sold at markets and supermarkets in Vietnam. 115 JAPANESE DISHES, FULL RECIPES Rice bowls, noodles, hot pots, grilled, simmered and fried dishes, sushi, fish and sweets: from oyakodon, ramen, tempura and sukiyaki to chawanmushi and dorayaki. Every dish has amounts, steps, tips and cooking time. Recipes are checked against Japanese sources such as NHK, Kikkoman and Shirogohan.com, linked at the end of each dish. COOK FROM YOUR FRIDGE Add what you have to the Fridge. The app sorts dishes by how ready they are: cook now, one item missing, or several missing. "Buy one more" shows which single ingredient unlocks the most dishes. EASY INGREDIENT SWAPS Out of mirin, dashi or miso? Each ingredient comes with a substitute and where to buy it in Vietnam, plus a check on whether the swap still keeps the dish true to itself. A COOKING ASSISTANT Write the way you talk: "I have beef, onion and eggs, want something quick". The assistant considers the meal, the season and the dishes you just discussed, then picks the best matches from the app's recipes. STEP-BY-STEP COOKING MODE Large text, one step at a time, with a timer for the steps that need one, so there is no scrolling with busy hands. RAW FOOD SAFETY Dishes with raw egg or raw fish explain how to choose and handle the ingredients safely. THREE LANGUAGES Vietnamese, English and Japanese. The app follows the device language, and you can switch in Settings along with light and dark appearance. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account needed. Your fridge, saved dishes and chat history stay on the device. Messages are sent only when you use the Assistant.Read more
