About

Make German practice a simple listening habit. Beethoven Listen and Repeat guides you through 1,000 German sentences, from everyday essentials to more challenging expressions. Hear a sentence, say it aloud, hear it again, repeat it once more, then listen to its English meaning. Longer sentences give you more time to speak. A CLEAR FIVE-PART PRACTICE Follow the German sentence, your first repeat, the sentence again, your second repeat, and the English meaning. Tap a part to jump straight to it. Optional on-device speech recognition shows what you said while the app is open and highlights matching attempts. MADE FOR LISTENING All lesson recordings are included. Listen offline, continue playback with the screen locked, and use lock-screen playback controls. A short Beethoven introduction starts a new Learning session. YOUR OWN LEARNING QUEUE Keep sentences in Learning until you are ready to move them to Known. Revisit a known sentence, choose where to begin, and review your attempts in Practice History. Your progress is saved on your device. A BEETHOVEN FINALE The final four lessons feature sung excerpts from the Ode to Joy, with English meanings, for a musical finish to the course. No account, advertising, or subscription is required. Spoken lesson audio is AI-generated. Transcription requires microphone and speech-recognition permission and a device that supports on-device German recognition. Transcription works while the app is open; listening continues when the screen is locked. Recognition is a practice aid, not a professional pronunciation assessment.Read more
