About
ImageLocate works out where a photo was taken — and the floor it was taken from — even when the photo has no GPS. It reads a photo the way an expert investigator does, and shows you its working: • Signs and text: the script and language, business and street names (looked up on Apple Maps and OpenStreetMap), phone numbers, web domains, postcodes and company names. • The scene: on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model looks at architecture, road markings, vegetation and landmarks, and zooms in on signs too small to read at a glance. • Physics: the sun's height measured from shadows, mountain skylines matched against terrain, and the camera's own tilt sensor. • Indoors: the shape of the power socket, the color of the exit sign, and the electricity grid revealed by the shutter speed. • The weather: what the photo shows, checked against the weather recorded that day. Every clue is weighed with calibrated probabilities, clues that overlap are never counted twice, and when a photo genuinely doesn't say where it is, ImageLocate tells you so instead of guessing. Floor detection reads floor signs and elevator panels, counts window rows on the building opposite, measures the camera's height against people in the street, and compares the photo's altitude with the ground below. Privacy first: analysis happens on your iPhone. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Optional online lookups send only short text, coordinates or dates — never your photo — and can be switched off service by service. Also includes: batch analysis of whole trips, a history and story map of where your photos were taken, and Find That Spot, which guides you back to where a photo was taken. Requirements: iOS 26.4 or later on iPhone or iPad. Visual reasoning uses Apple Intelligence on supported devices; every other method works on any supported device. ImageLocate is a one-time purchase: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
