About

Thåst Timing is the broadcast clock from time.thast.live as an app: an LED studio clock of the kind that hangs in broadcast galleries, with a sixty-LED seconds ring and an HH:MM:SS dot matrix, built for galleries, MCRs, OB trucks and anyone who needs the right time at a glance. THE TIME IS TRUE The clock locks to the Thåst timebase, a single monotonic source of truth shared by every Thåst display, and cross-checks itself against Swedish reference time from RISE in Borås (UTC(SP), the keepers of Sweden's national time scale). The corner LED tells you what you are looking at: green when locked, amber in holdover, dim while connecting. Tap the face to see how far the clock is from UTC(SP), to the millisecond. IT NEVER JUMPS Corrections are slewed, never stepped backwards. The second boundary is drawn on the exact frame it happens, at up to 120 Hz. Between fixes the clock runs on the device's monotonic clock, so it keeps time offline. IT FEELS LIKE HARDWARE Every diode is drawn as a lens behind smoked glass: the reflection and the highlights move with the device, the LEDs sit in depth behind the bezel, and on displays with headroom the red glows brighter than white. WHAT IT IS NOT No alarms. No adverts. No account. No tracking. It always shows Stockholm broadcast time, wherever you are. Thåst Timing is part of TSG, a set of free broadcast tools by David Thåst: Vero BAAMBI (loudness metering), TSG Lineup (line-up pictures, tones and idents) and TSG Sightline (camera plans).Read more
