About

Binaural Signal Generator is a hardware-style instrument for binaural beats. Two pure sine tones, one in each ear. No music, no rain sounds, no voice. The beat is the difference between your ears, and this app puts that difference under your thumb. THE MACHINE • Carrier knob, 20–1500 Hz: the tone in your left ear • Differential knob, 0.5–40 Hz: how far above the carrier your right ear sits. That gap is the beat. • Level knob: keep it barely there • A marked stop at 7.83 Hz, the Schumann resonance Every knob clicks through its detents with haptic feedback, so it feels like turning real hardware. WATCH THE SIGNAL • Phosphor oscilloscope showing the beat envelope, or switch to X·Y and watch left against right turn once per beat • Analog meter marked delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma • A beat lamp that pulses in time • Immerse: a full-screen field of rings that breathes with the beat RUN A PROGRAM Four programs from the BCS sequence: ANCHOR, SEVER, VECTOR and SYNAPSE. Each loads its carrier and starting differential. Turn on RAMP and the differential glides to its end value over an 11, 22 or 33 minute session. Sessions keep running with the screen locked. FEEL IT Flip the FEEL switch and the phone pulses with the beat in your hand. BUILT CAREFULLY • Phase-continuous oscillators, so frequency changes never click • Above 3 Hz the visuals lock to a whole-number fraction of the beat, so they never strobe • Warns you when headphones aren't connected • No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Nothing leaves your phone. Headphones required. With AirPods, turn off Spatialize Stereo in Control Center so each ear keeps its own tone. Not a medical device. Nonlocal Signal DivisionRead more
