About
Most wine apps begin by asking who made your wine, then look it up in their database. If the bottle came from a cellar door, a small grower, an old vintage, or a market their database never covered, nothing comes back — and you are left typing anyway. DrinkBy starts from the other end. Photograph the label and this iPhone reads what is printed on it: producer, vintage, alcohol, bottle size. What is printed gets filled in. What is not printed stays empty. DrinkBy will not invent a region it cannot read, and will not tell you when your wine will be ready. YOU SET THE WINDOW Give each bottle a "drink from" and "drink by" date. The cellar then sorts itself into Ready now, Still cellaring, and Past the window you set, so "what should I open tonight" answers itself. Only you know how your bottles age. The app keeps your judgement, it does not replace it. NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER There is no DrinkBy server to sign up to. Your cellar lives in the app's own storage on this iPhone. Label reading happens on the device, so it works in a cellar, a winery basement, a train tunnel. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to breach and nothing to sync. ONE PRICE, ONCE The free version holds 10 bottles. Unlock once and the limit is gone for as long as you keep the app. No subscription, no trial that quietly renews, no features held back behind a monthly fee. WHAT IT DOES • Scan a label with the camera, or read a photo you already took • Type a bottle in by hand — no camera required • Search by producer, region, grape or bin code • Filter to Ready, Still cellaring, or Empty • Record a bottle as opened with one tap • Export everything as CSV, openable in Numbers or Excel • Delete everything at any time, without asking us first WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No social network, no wine shop, no price comparison, no critic ratings, no tasting community, no AI recommending what to buy. It is a list of the wine you own and the dates you chose for it. The app interface is currently available in English only. Support: hangzhou.gxm@gmail.comRead more
