About

You remember the stag. You don't remember the four mornings before it, which gully they were in, or that all of them were over by nine. HuntFix Journal keeps the whole book — the blank days included — and shows you what your season actually adds up to. LOG IT IN A FEW TAPS • Head out: one button, or one press of the Action button, and the outing is running • Add: species, count, save — the time, the place, the light and the moon are already filled in • Saw: the mob on the far face goes in as a sighting, never in the bag • Quick blank: nothing seen, nothing shot, two taps — and it counts as much as the good days • No reception needed: logging works anywhere THE CONDITIONS, WORKED OUT FOR YOU Sunrise, sunset, twilight, the light and the moon are worked out on the phone from the time and the place. The day's weather comes from Apple when there is signal and shows "—" when there isn't. Nothing is ever guessed or filled in afterwards. SEE WHAT YOUR SEASON ADDS UP TO • What: species totals, taken and seen kept apart, fish lengths and weights • When: by month, by light and by moon phase • Where: area by area, then spot by spot • The map: every entry as a pin, every spot as a circle, on standard or satellite Every figure carries its count, its hours and its outings — "2 deer in 12 h over 5 outings" — and anything resting on fewer than three outings is greyed out as too few to compare. No trend lines, no forecasts, and never the word "best". The judgement stays yours. ASK ABOUT YOUR OWN SEASON Apple Intelligence reads your record on your iPhone and answers from it, and nothing leaves the phone. Or switch to Anthropic's Claude — five questions a week, included, nothing to set up. Either way it can compare, count and notice, and it never tells you where or when to hunt. YOUR SPOTS STAY YOURS No account and no analytics. Your journal backs up to your own private iCloud, which I cannot read, and photographs stay with the entry, never in your camera roll. Apple Intelligence sends nothing anywhere. Claude is the one exception, and only when you pick it and ask: a summary of your record — counts, hours, and your spot, area and companion names — goes through my relay to Anthropic to be answered. The relay keeps nothing but the times you asked, to count your five a week. Coordinates and photographs are never sent to any AI. Export everything whenever you like — a complete backup, a spreadsheet, or waypoints for a map — free, whatever you have paid. HUNTING AND FISHING Big game, game birds and fishing, with New Zealand's species built in and any other added in three taps. Areas and the spots inside them, companions by name, up to six photographs an entry, and Siri, Shortcuts, the Action button and a Lock Screen control for when your hands are full. FREE FOR YOUR FIRST 7 DAYS Everything, free for a week from the day you first open the app, with nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel. After that, heading out again needs an annual subscription, which renews each year unless you cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Reading your record, exporting it and the iCloud backup stay free whatever you decide, and an outing that is already running is never cut off. The companion to HuntFix, which finds the animal you shot. Separate apps; neither needs the other. Made in the South Island by a hunter who wanted the book kept properly. HuntFix Journal keeps a record; it does not predict or recommend, and it carries no seasons, bag limits or permit rules. Know the rules where you hunt and fish.
