About

Health, money, family, love, making things. They matter, but they have no deadline, so they keep slipping behind whatever feels urgent. Abraxas gives each of them an egg. Open the app only on a day you truly moved forward, and press and hold the egg to make a crack. Nothing counts how many times you've done it or how many days you've rested. Only the cracks on the shell show how far you've come. One egg, one you growing inside An egg is named after who grows inside it, not after an area of life. Not "Health" but "The runner in me". Not "Money" but "Me, not ruled by money". Making an egg takes two steps. Write a name, a one-line vow and, if you like, a next step, and pick a size and color. Then hold the egg to seal your vow. It goes into the nest, or the drawer if the nest is full. There are three sizes: quail egg (a short story), hen's egg (about a season) and goose egg (a long journey). On a day you moved forward, press and hold The day you went for a run, called your mom first, or waited a day before buying something. On days like that, press and hold the egg. Knocks from inside speed up until they meet your fingertip, and the shell cracks with the sound of porcelain. The crack appears right where your finger was, and it stays there. After a crack you can leave a note under "What changed?", or not. Pressed by mistake? Undo it right away. The final crack can't be undone, because the egg opens right after it. Pecking together, so once a day The chick pecks from inside, the hen from outside, at the same spot. When they peck together, the shell opens. A real step forward in your life is the peck from inside. Holding the egg is the answer from outside. If the hen pecks when the chick isn't pecking, she hurts the chick. So each egg takes one crack a day. The day turns over at 4 a.m., so a late night still counts for that day. If you hold an egg that already cracked today, it knocks twice softly from inside and points to today's crack. No scolding. No numbers No day counts, no percentages, nothing like "3 to go". No badges, no levels. An egg left alone for months never fades or gathers dust. Days you rest are never marked as failures. You don't press the moment it opens Once enough cracks are in, the egg knocks three times by itself after the final crack and opens from inside. You just watch. Write one line about what came out, then make the next egg in the same place. The first time an egg truly opens, the line from Demian appears once more. Color lives only on your eggs The app is a quiet gray, and the only color is on the eggs you choose. White, sand, apricot, coral, pink, lavender, sky, mint, sage, ink. You can change an egg's color later. The nest, the drawer, and Abraxas The nest holds up to three eggs. The rest wait in the drawer until there's room. Opened shells rest in Abraxas. Tap a crack on a shell to see its day and the note you left. You don't have to go all the way. If you set an egg down, the cracks you made stay as they are. Share an opened shell as an image card. The card never shows the egg's name. Also · Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets keep an egg in sight. Cracks are made only in the app. · Open the nest straight from Control Center, or say to Siri, "Open the nest in Abraxas." · The app never sends notifications on its own. If you like, it can ask once a week, "Did something move this week?" You choose the day and time. · Export a backup as a JSON file and import it later, or export all your records as Markdown. · Supports Dark Mode, larger text and VoiceOver. With Short hold, a brief press is enough to make a crack. Haptics and sound can each be turned off. All your records stay on this device No account, no server, no analytics, no ads. “The bird fights free of the egg. The egg is the world. Anyone who wants to be born must destroy a world.” Hermann Hesse, Demian In the novel, Abraxas is the god the bird flies to. In this app, it's also where opened shells rest.Read more
