About
FieldGrade puts your grade plan in your pocket. Open a site plan on your iPhone or iPad and see exactly where you're standing on it, live, with a heading arrow. It's built for supervisors and ground crew who aren't in a machine-controlled dozer but still need to know where they are on the plan. OPEN PLANS THE WAY THEY ARRIVE • Open plans straight from Mail, Files, or AirDrop • Supports GeoJSON, KML, and DXF in latitude/longitude, and grid DXF in NC State Plane • Opens Topcon machine-control files directly: .ln3 linework and .tn3 design surfaces • Only have paper? Photograph the plan sheet, match two to four spots to the map, and it lays over the satellite view • Linework and labels stay sharp and readable at every zoom KNOW WHERE YOU ARE • Live position arrow that points the way you're facing • North-up or heading-up map, so the plan turns with you like the machine's screen • Tap anywhere to see the design grade from the plan's surfaces • Accuracy circle and color-coded accuracy badge, so you know when to trust the dot • Always-on readout of latitude, longitude, and elevation FIELD TOOLS • Tap to measure: tap two or more points for distances in feet • Mark points: drop a pin at your position or anywhere on the map, and add a note like "soft spot" or "busted pipe" • Navigate back: pick a marked point and follow a live distance and direction arrow to it • Area notes: outline an area and note grade changes, cut, fill, or keep-out zones WORKS ON THE SITE • Satellite base map with adjustable plan opacity, plus Esri satellite imagery and your own drone orthomosaics (GeoTIFF or MBTiles) that work offline • Pan, pinch-zoom, and rotate the map • Plans and markers are stored on your device and work with no signal PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account and no tracking. Your location, plans, and markers never leave your device. Accuracy note: FieldGrade uses your device's built-in GPS, which is typically accurate to 10–16 feet in open sky. It's for viewing and marking up plans, not for machine guidance or grade staking. Wi-Fi-only iPads have no GPS chip, so use an iPhone or a cellular iPad on site.Read more
